  1. bump. still for sale. boots for rock skiing...?
  2. Bought these for a friend, but they didn't fit, and I'm past the return window. Icebreaker funny sizing is your gain. $45/each, $80 for the pair. I tried wearing the blue one a handful of times, but it just doesn't fit.
  3. After my last lap to Muir, I'm facing the music that these boots are simply the wrong size for me. Great boots. Light, responsive, and climb well for a four buckle boot. Just too small for me. Unfortunately, the liners have been molded twice in my effort to fit them, and are pretty blown out. I bought them brand new in the fall of 2013, and they've been skied ~20ish days. The usual scrapes and such on the shells, but otherwise in excellent condition. Boots, liners, and footbeds $250 obo. I'd love to move them, so make me an offer. Cash in hand in Seattle only.
  4. these are still available for the 12/13 season. Any interest? $350 o.b.o.
  5. I have a pair of brand new, Scarpa Blink women's ski boots, Mondo size 24.5 (typical ~wms 7-8 street shoe). $400 firm. I am in Missoula, MT. You pay shipping, Paypal only. 6. I'm cleaning out the basement, and a variety of old ropes. Yes, old ropes. I'm not taking any responsibility for you climbing on them- use your own judgement. I'm really not interested in shipping and am in Portland, PM to arrange a pickup. Make me an offer, but I'm looking to get rid of them for a song. Bluewater 11mm, 50m static line. $20. Good for jugging/fixed lines, also for a doormat. PMI 9.7mm, 30m gym rope. $10 (This is probably ok for climbing, but has been well used). Beal 8mm, 20m glacier rope. Purchased in 2007, NEVER USED. $30 Mountaineering Monopoly. Yours if you pick it up. DMM Snow Fluke. Scotland? $5 Red Chili Chalk Bag. $5 Trango Lightweight webbing harness. One size fits all, including even your mom. Have fun.
  7. Water/Chris- Indeed I share your sentiment. I have no recourse, or intention to scam unemployment, and feel sincerely fortunate to be financially stable enough with my own resources to be unemployed for the foreseeable future. This is an opportunity to explore new territory, for me, by me. Hopefully that doesn't change due to unexpected circumstances. To the others: the reason I opened this thread again is to report that action has been taken. In March the job is gone, the lease is up, and the gear is packed... Thanks so much for the encouragement! I will do my best to represent the PNW in some sick TRs
  8. Accountability: 10 months later. Today, the email went out. I gave them 6 weeks notice and cited a valid excuse of being invited back for volunteer duty on Denali as a great reason to leave. Everyone is thoroughly supportive. I've thought about it a lot more. I have a better plan on what I want to do and why. I'm in much better financial shape. I've planned appropriately for a long period of time. I'm leaving my projects in great shape, I've got time to hand them off responsibly. My employer loves me and would have me back in a minute, but completely understands that I need to do this in my life. I'm leaving a great team I've learned a ton from, and a great city full of amazing friends. 10 months ago I was angry and frustrated, leaving for the wrong reasons at the wrong time. Now- opportunity knocks, and it's time to answer. Let the baggage go, and get that feeling to stick.
  9. I have no clue if anyone would even be interested, but... I made a knot board back in high school, and would say I did a good job of it at the time (and even now). If anyone has an old-school cabin or kid that wants to get out of his boyscout project... it's just taking up space and not being displayed. I'd love to sell it, and have it on PDX craigslist for $40. I will happily entertain serious and or amusing offers for cash or trade. PM me and I can send better photos-
  10. happy to ship... if you are happy to pay for it.
  11. Long story short, these are too long for me, and somehow I have 2 pair of 191cm skis. Both pairs need a waxing, but have had recent base tuning done. One pair is mounted with 22Designs Hammerheads that are still in great shape (like really good shape). $175 for the skis and bindings (Atomic TMEX) $50 for the unmounted pair (Atomic 10EX) Please take them off my hands- I'm happy to negotiate. I'd prefer Portland area, but can get them to SEA easily.
  12. so hypothetically... if you had the month of April off of work, had never explored the eastern sierra at all, were a competent 5.10 trad leader and decent tele-skier, and specifically wanted to explore the eastern sierra- what routes would you do? what peaks would you ski? hypothetically... just starting some research. I've seen few trip reports, but need some more recommendations to help focus. thanks-
  13. I have a pair of Atomic TMEX 191cm skis unmounted that I would part with for $50. They are pretty done, but the bases are tuned and should still function. Relatively light for the length. I'm in Portland, but suspect we could figure out how to get them to you. PM if interested
  14. So the girlfriend is a ripping skier and wants to get in the backcountry this year, and is counting on my snow camping skills to keep us warm. Skills nothing, I count on my ArcTeryx Dually to keep me warm. She is a women's extra small in most things, any recommendations for a very warm puffy coat for a small lady? I just can't swing retail for an XS Dually. I'd prefer something synthetic. Patagonia DAS is the only other alternative I know of, and not a bad one. Anything else I should look for?
  15. Picks are gone, but tools are still available. I'll throw in the beater picks with the tools... and entertain all offers.
  16. does no one want tools? sale pending on some of the picks, but the tool package is still available- make an offer!
  17. okay- here's the complete set of photos, you can check out the picks as well. $25/pick http://picasaweb.google.com/skander.spies/Spring2010GearSale# Quads 1 + 2 are in decent shape, but have been sharpened quite a bit. I'd say they still have plenty of life left though. Cascade 1 + 2 are very new, probably less than 10 days on them. Cascade 3 + 4 are well used and have been sharpened quite a bit. I'd part with them for a bit less.
  18. here's the package I'm selling with the tools. Additional picks sold separately, photos to come shortly.
  19. As I mentioned here: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/977496/1_pair_Petzl_Quarks_with_extra#Post977496 I have 6 extra old quark picks (4 Cascades, 2 mixed 4mm) and would happily sell them individually (as well as the Quarks, any takers?!). PM me and we can discuss, I'm thinking ~$25/pick.
  20. I have one pair (two individual tools) of older style Petzl Quarks for sale. Looking to sell as a package with one pair (2 picks) of 4mm picks, and two pair (4 picks) cascade (3mm) picks, and the tool leashes. These have seen some serious mileage, but still have some life left. Start the bidding at $275? Make me an offer. I will post photos tonight. I'd prefer to sell in the Portland/SW WA area, but we can talk. PM me. A few other random items: 1997 patagonia DAS (Men's medium)~$80 2005 patagonia micropuff (Men's large)~$60
