  14. Looking for a pair of Winter Mountaineering/Alpine boots that can withstand anything from slogging in the Lower 48 to South American high altitude stuff. Currently, I own a pair of Scarpa Freney XT's and while their great, the insulation is poor. I live in Minnesota, am climbing Mt. Hood this January, and need something warmer. Please help! What do you all recommend. I'm looking to spend less than $500. I've looked at a few options and would love your feedback/suggestions. Do they make Koflach's anymore?   15. Thanks for the beta! I've done a lot of volcano mountaineering as well as some Alpine both in the US and South America. What are some more technical routes than just a day slog that people out there would recommend? I've checked summitpost but figured that you all would be the more ideal audience... Thanks!
  16. Planning on doing a winter ascent on Hood probably the third or last week of January. Could I get some beta on possible routes, both technical and easy. Any information would be greatly appreciated, including any possible online guides or guidebooks. Currently living in Minnesota has limited my resources.
