  1. Makes me mad! I will keep an eye out. Send a list to Next Adventure they will keep an eye out for ya too! I was told by the Portland Police if I find my gear and there is a police report filed and I see my gear I can just grab it. If you have serial #s you can set up a sting like I did and get your gear back that way. By the way that was kinda a fun deal when I got the Basic Cams back. Kinda scary though.
  2. I always wanted to get older so I could be mean and crotchety like my grandfather. It's kind of fun!
  3. Speaking of chill dudes. Thanks for doing all that leading yesterday. I am having trouble feeling my arms. I will have to all the heavy lifting today at work as Ricks arms are blown out.
  4. Never was a statement more true. I have socks older than some of these young climbers.
  5. No Steeple today. We may have missed our last day to climb out there this season. We will have to see next weekend's weather. Climbed at OH8 with SteveTimTravlr and Tim Wilson. Rick and I were spent. Maybe trying to climb Sasquatch was not the best idea. After that I went right downhill. Turned 50 today. Glad to still be climbing!
  6. I laughed so hard I screamed inside. You are a funny guy. When you gonna get out this way again?
  7. Thanks pink for setting Steve straight. Sunday is the day.
  8. Rick and I were talking about it. Weather doesn't look too bad. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=45.07497531301177&lon=-122.10732936859131&site=pqr&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=text
  9. We thinking of heading up on Sunday if anyone wants a guided tour.
  10. Great time. We had 30 folks show up and pitch in on various projects. The ranger Karl was super stoked and thanked us all.
  11. Saturday 9:00am until 12:00pm Beacon Rock State Park, North Bonneville, Washington 98639 The Beacon Rock Climbing Association is happy to announce that it will be hosting a Trail Maintenance Day at Beacon Rock State Park on Saturday, October 27th, 2012 starting at 9 a.m. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to give back to the park and to meet new and old school climbers! If you are interested in becoming a Beacon Rock volunteer on Trail Maintenance Day, please feel free to join one of 3 Teams dedicated to 3 Projects lasting (approximately) 3 Hours: 3 PROJECTS: 1. SW Face Climbers' Trail - this area is in need of some attention as years of blanket closures due to Peregrine Falcon nesting have left it a bit neglected. This old climbers' trail leads to the SW Face where a handful of established routes wait to see climbers again ... someday. We plan to attack poison oak (without the use of herbicide) and move some stone & dirt to prevent erosion. 2. Hikers' Trail - the superhighway to the top of Beacon Rock is in need of attention as well. Some loose boards and nails pose a slight hazard to hikers, runners and so forth. We'll also be picking up trash which accumulates throughout the busy summer season. 3. South Face Climbers' Trail (Free For All to Jensen's Ridge) - this area near the "Arena of Terror" is over grown and erosion has taken its toll. Poison oak eradication and moving stone. Join any team and afterwards we'll get together for climbing and a BBQ. Rain or shine, we are hoping to have a positive event to support such an amazing state park!
  12. Clod one was a mistake. But then I thought about it......
  13. We are going to do this clean up and trail work for sure. So don't let the rain keep ya from coming out, ya all!
  14. nice jorb there plaid-man The hooting and hollering was the best part. That's how I know the Beacon Rock Crew is there and alive and kickin'. Thanks for the kudos Ivan. My wife said I spent to much time talking about the gear. What can I say I am a GEAR WHORE! I think I am going to get some T-shirts made with that across the chest and back.
  15. I'll be wearing a Tam tonight. Wish I had a kilt. Damn it!
  16. I'll be there flipping burgers. Show up rain or shine. I'm gonna!
  17. 7 pm Wednesday, Oct. 24 Mazamas Mountaineering Center 527 SE 43rd Ave, Portland OR 97215 Price = FREE It should be a good time. http://mazamaevents.blogspot.com/2012/09/100-days-100-miles-100-climbs-adventure.html?spref=fb
  18. Ditto to that. He was a bad ass for sure. 5.7 in mountaineering boots. He will always be held in high regard in my house. He was one of the inspirations for my 100 Days 100 Miles 100 Climbs adventure. I also liked the little red flags on the summits in the book.
  19. ^^^^^^Hear Hear. Totally agree.^^^^^^ Manage ourselves? What a novel idea! We should and most of us do.
  20. HMMMM! Missed that one. Let me check........ Kinda dry around the edges. Better use lube.
