So, are clearance and pick width the key factors in choosing a tool for vertical water ice? I would imagine that head weight comes into the equation as well.

Are the BD Venom tools any good on waterfall ice?

I have a pair of older stye Makalus in size 45 that I would like to trade for a pair of step-in crampons. I am looking for something like G12s, Sabertooths or Sarkens. The boots are in pretty good shape. I bought them on ebay and they just don't work for me. If anyone is interested PM me and I will be happy to provide pics. Cheers
