  1. I want to join whatever group coalesce here, either the mid or late August. I have never climbed Rainier but I have climbed all the other mountains here in the NW and Shasta in NorCal. I have all the gear for myself. I have ropes too if needed. I'm from Portland, male, age 45.
  2. Leaving Portland Friday July 2, back to Portland late Sunday or early Monday. I have a Subie Outback and can take 1 or 2 passengers and gear. You don't have to climb with me but if you need a ride, here's your ticket. I am 45 YO male if that matters. Im taking the tourist route, aka Avalanche Gulch route. email me at pdxcpa@gmail.com
  3. Anybody in the Portland aread heading up Shasta for Memorial Day weekend? I am. (leaving Portland, Oregon on the 28, drive back to Portland on the 30th) I have room in my outback for 2 other peeps who can share gas cost and some driving. I am not looking for a climbing partner, just some cool peeps who can share some of the transportation costs, but it's cool to if we can climb together, otherwise we part ways once we get there. I am going via the Avy Gulch route (yeah, the Tourist route as my friends calls it) I am male of advaced age of 45 Better to email me at pdxcpa@gmail.com
  4. South Sister – October 10, 2009 I'm here in Portland. Leave Portland Friday (10/9/09) afternoon, camp overnight at Devils Lake, climb and head home Saturday afternoon/evening. Pete
  5. Looking for anybody to go climb Mt. Adams. No prior experience required as this is just a walk up to the summit climb, albeit long and steep at times. You don't need crampons for this climb. Heck, you don't even need ice axe but it would be nice for some glissading for whatever snow remains there at this time. Camp overnight at Cold Springs campground, start about 4 am Saturday and be back in the afternoon. I live in Portland so either we carpool or meet at the camp. I climb this mountain every year. Don't worry about the conditions you might have read in the other post here. Best way to contact me is my email at pdxcpa@gmail.com
  6. My apology, I did not see the thread about the team practice, just honest concern for fellow climbers. Good luck on your climb all.
  7. I'll take you (or accompany you) no need to buy me beer, I pay my own. Well go the tourist route (south side) and I would not want to be roped. Let's get in touch. Peter
  8. looks like a suicide pact - roping up with people you don't know skill levels... better one person fall than 4 or 5 would you think?
  9. the climber is obviously a newbie. no need to cleanse him from the gene pool. we need to take him now as one of our own. he will get better and wiser and stronger, and one day might eat your lunch. we all started as a beginner and some of us may have made mistake. newbies needs coaching, assistance, understanding and our patience. He is trying to be a better climber, perhaps someday, he will be your partner in a epic. have a great day y'all
  10. Looking for weekends (weather permitting , months of September/October/November) climbing partner to climb crags in and around the metro portland area - Rocky butte, Broughton, Beacon, Carver bridge, etc... I am still a beginner, 5.6 -5.9 climber. I have equipment (and one 60m ropes but no quickdraws). So anybody who wants to climb in this fun range and mostly top ropes, that would be great. If anybody can lead, then even better. lemme know. email at: tooslowclimber@gmail.com
  11. Looking for lightweight mountaineering boots, specifically Scarpa Charmoz or Triolet, or La Sportiva Evo Trango, or similar construction. Looking for size 9.5 (or 42).
  12. We will be there on Friday, August 10th. We will look for your group. 5 am looks like a good starting time. The weather is looking good. cya. Peter
  13. Looking for anybody who wants to do a car-to-car climb up Mt. Adams via South Spur, the weekend of August 25-26. I prefer car-to-car but alternatively, I can also do bivy at the Lunchcounter if that is preferable who might be interested. I am in reasonable shape, have climbed Hood, St. Helens, Thielsen, and done some 5.8 rock at Smith. I have another post here for same climb, for August 10, 11, 12. email me if interested. peter.tuazon@juno.com Thanks. Peter
  14. Looking for climbing people who are going or wants to go the weekend of August 11. I would like to join a party who is going on this date, OR, looking for at least one person who wants to go. My plan is to camp overnight at the car camp (trailhead) Friday the 10th and start early morning the next day, back at car late afternoon. I have climbed Mt Hood, St. Helens, Mt. Thielsen, (some sport climbing at Smith rock too) and climbed Adams last month but have to turn around due to nasty weather at 9,500 ft. Thanks for checking this out. email me at peter.tuazon@juno.com Thanks.
