  1. Yep! The trail was damp to wet this morning but the route was dry. Almost got RDW clean too. Soon...
  2. Anyone out at WW1 today and can report on what, if anything, was dry? RDW is of particular interest b/c I would like to redpoint it soon. Cheers!
  3. Has anyone been up Sloan recently? We are considering heading that way later in the week and any beta on the approach and conditions on the upper mountain would be appreciated. We are still debating routes with the Corkscrew as an option but also liking the sound of the SE face as described by Becky. In particular his "rock is superb" description. Thanks in advance for all helpful information.
  4. I am going to be in Boise for a few days. Is there any cragging closer than City of Rocks?
  5. I was at Index this weekend and worked on slapshot for a bit. The slaps were challenging and fun. Wasn't able to figure out the moves past the last bolt...yet. I have seen a couple different grades attributed to the lower portion and wondering what the consensus is amongst Index regulars.
  6. Ledge is sold. Thank you for the inquiries.
  7. It is made my Pika. From what I understand Pika copied and A5 design. I paid 417. I am offering it at 250. Below are some pics I took today.
  8. Used once in Zion and now sitting in my garage. We didn't buy a fly so you'll have to sleep in bivy bags or contact Pika about getting a fly. Anyone interested?
  9. In addition to the concern about strength there was the very real issue of being able to easily pull the rope due to the poor configuration of quick links. The current configuration should offer better safety (we equalized the bolts with a sliding x) and the rope pulled much easier than it had previously. http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/666284/TR_Icicle_Creek_Sam_Hill_Don_t#Post666284

  11. did anyone find a pair of la sportiva mythos up in the keen acres area of icicle creek the end of last month?
  12. Thanks for the beta. I love linking lower castle with something fun on upper castle and getting a handful of pitches out of the deal. I am a bit confused about location though. I have climbed the catapult but assumed that it was the single pitch above the wide crack/chimney (the "fault") that moves through a corner/roof and then up a dihedral to either the ledge that is about level with "the bone" or on up another 15 feet to the huge ledge where the climbing becomes much easier. Did the rock pop in the chimney, corner/roof, or up in the dihedral? Thanks!
  13. Trip: Icicle Creek -- Sam Hill - Don't Forget Arete Date: 3/30/2007 Trip Report: Had a great time cragging last Saturday in the Sam Hill area. Repeated Don't Forget Arete only to remember that the anchor needs some help. The bolts and hangers seem solid but the current configuration of quick links on the hangers makes pulling your rope difficult. If someone takes a bit of webbing up with them the anchor could be improved drastically with minimal effort.
