    Are You Drugged?

41 y.o. white male and (thought) I was reasonably healthy, I like my stogies and cold beer. August 21st found out my blood sugar was high and am now taking meds for that daily. How can they make rye whiskey with little/no sugar?
  2. +1 on the Bibler Eldo, mine is a single door model but I use it as a solo tent. At 6'4" I have to sleep diagonally, not really any room for anyone except maybe one of my 4 yr. old twins. It's not cheap at close to $600 but I've had mine for 6-7 years and it's still in great shape, one tiny little snag on the mesh door. Oh, anf for what it's worth it's a green one. I haven't looked at BD's site lately but isn't yellow the only color available these days?
  3. T2 tele boots, Super Manta, and SL M3. They fit my feet and going still going strong, last pair I bought was the SL in 2002. Too bad about the design change IMHO, I don't care for the "articulated" ankle or whatever they call it on the new models. Their own add copy on the SL went something like, "timeless, classic mountain boot." then they go and change it. More seams=more potential points for failure and leaks.
  4. Yes. Thanks. And so as you would have it, the owner of that blog (I am not suprrised by this) did not post the entire response I sent him/her.... Oh well... thats the media for ya. (also noticed that he/she snipped the comment about the MLU's (which I thought would have indicated it was "sarcasm", but what do I know)) edit: I have removed my comments, on this incident. Hmmm.... Kids: make this a lesson.... the media watches CC.com.... And WILL publish your comments WITHOUT your permission... Posters beware. I am fucking fed up with the media trying to create the news instead of just reporting the news. Just had to get that off my chest.
  5. Whew! It wasn't Bessemer. From your description it sounds like Ewen. My wife, 3 kids, 1 groomsman, and myself stayed in a motel there for my wife's counsin's wedding last June. Our room had a very musty, moldy smell also. I did not go to Ice Fest, I've got a pretty full plate with family obligations these days. I got bit by the ice climbing bug visiting my niece in Anchorage (Matanuska Glacier) back in '02 right after marriage and right before family and a career change. I am curious about the crash site. I would like to visit it if I knew where it was. I asked my father earlier this evening and he didn't remember. He said possibly the Marenisco area. I don't intend to disturb or remove anything and could even leave flowers in your belhalf if you like.
  6. Great TR, touching. I've been a lurker here and had to register because of this thread. I live approximately 3 hours from Munising, where did you stay that you felt you had to sleep with an ice tool? Coming from Minnesota I'm sure you passed through my hometown.
