  1. As far as I know, people who learn sport climbing in Gyms aren't going up to Leavenworth and bolting the crap out of it. Finding a new route, cleaning it, bolting it etc.. takes a lot of time and know how, that most 'gym sport' climbers don't have. That's not to say that they couldn't learn or don't posses the skills and such. I'm trying to say that sport climbers seek out existing sport routes. And yes, they learn that "cliping bolts is the way to do it" because it's an easier, safer method to learn. There are so many routes in Leavenworth to choose from, so pick your poisen. And if you don't like the existing ones, make your own!! FYI, for those diehard crack fans: there's a new crag that will be in the next book that features amazing routes with cracks/ chimneys of all shapes and sizes (finger jams, hand jams, double fist jams, you name it!!) Mainly trad or light sport/ trad mix. =)
  2. Hi, I'm looking for some climbing partners for weekends: I've really only climbed in Leavenworth, but am always up to try somewhere new. Here is what I can do: Lead most 5.8 bolted face routes, follow 5.9's/ some 5.10's but usually have to cheat a little =( I've been climbing for under a year, and I don't have a rope or quick draws, but can usually borrow them if need be (I'm used to climbing with people much better then myself). Drop me a line if you don't mind bringing a girl and her dog climbing! Thanks.
  3. I'm a fairly new snowboarder, comfortable doing intermediate runs, and I'm about to finally buy my own board. I'm looking for a moderately priced piece that I can get a couple seasons out of before outgrowing it. Through my searching I've found that the Ride Solace Women's board looks like it might work for me, however, I've never used Ride Equipment, so I'm really just going on what I've read. Has anyone used their equipment, or specifically this board? Comments welcome!!
  4. That's probably a good idea, since I'm sure some of us have more to lose/tone then others
  5. If this really does happen, I'm in. I'm embarrassingly out of climbing shape at 140lbs and could stand to lose at least 10lbs.
