for a first rope the 10.2 is fine because you will probally be doing more top roping than hard red point ascents. Then when you start trying harder routes, thats when the ounces srart adding up and then you buy the Mammut 8.9 single.

I climb roped climbs way harder than bouldering.......maybe because bouldering is practice for real climbing.
Bouldering is real climbing stupid. I don't think when Chris Sharma sends a V14 he isn't "really" climbing. Watch some vids. and read up on John Gill or Hemmingway
Doing simple workouts like frenchies or the 10 min. fingerboard workout helped a lot in improving my strength. Alos it is VERY important to learn technique BEFORE strength. That way they won't power through moves like me .
