You probably won't be alone. The last time I went there were lots of people. You don't need a rope for the climb. I've seen people use a rope to climb the column at the top but I've also seen older women with no climbing experience go up it without a rope.

I don't have a book. I grew up there if you didn't notice my post. I watched the fire that burned all the trees up there back in 94 or 95. I was hoping the slide would keep people out of there now that there's a book out.

No it's not cleared I just drove through the mud. I only have a stock jeep cherokee with bald tires and I had no trouble getting through it. There are some more slides further up but nothing as bad as the first one. Who's Greg Orton? I lived in Oakridge for 10+ years and my parents still live there and I've never heard of him.

It's not impassible if you have something with four wheel drive, and hopefully not a Subaru. I was there last weekend visiting my parents and I made it up there for some climbs no problem.

So does anybody have an idea as to ratings on these climbs? Just curious.

It was nice yesterday. The sun was out and the skies were clear. Beautiful day for scouting.

I went over there yesterday and found it no problem. Bit of a hike to get to. If you've ever rafted the Deschutes and you're a climber then I'm sure you've seen it.
