  1. I want to be at Smith by the 9th for the Spring Thing clean up. meeting a climbing partner there but need a ride down. a little flexible on the departure time, could leave anytime from 6th to early on the 8th. I have a ride back already, just looking for a ride down. will help pay for gas of course! thanks, Brian :-)
  2. the forecast for the pass is great on Fri but goes downhill after that, 20% chance of rain on Sat and rain/snow likely on Sun, snow level about 6100' on Sun. I was thinking about skiing Fri and Sat but maybe some rockclimbing in Mazama on Sun if its dry enough there. any takers for some rock on Sun, or late Sat afternoon if it goes to crap up at the pass? also, I have a ride, I think, up to the pass on Fri but looking for a ride down to the Ski-in gathering after that and back to Seattle on Sun. will share the cost of gas. anyone have some extra room? thanks, Brian :-)
  3. hey, I nearly missed this thread, shouldnt it be in the "events" section or maybe in "rock climbing" too? btw, I am looking for a ride down if anyone is heading that way, I already have a ride back.
  4. I have a ride up to the pass on Fri but looking for a ride down to the camping that night and back to Seattle at the end of the weekend. anybody have some extra room? will share the cost of gas! Brian :-)
  5. I am looking for a ride to Leavenworth Sun night. I am working that day so the later the better, I would prefer after 5:00. I have money for a share of the gas. not looking for a climbing partner, just a ride. thanks, Brian

  7. when remounting using the same holes either heli-coils or filling the hole with epoxy first should work great! if when you have your bindings mounted on your skis you have them mounted 1.5cm back where you wanted them in the first place then have your old holes filled with epoxy, instead of the plastic plugs usually used, and you shouldnt have any loss of integrity or strength. another backcountry repair tip: if your binding screws pull out and your bindings are mounted on riser plates simply removing the riser plate and remounting the binding can allow the screws to bite into enough new material to allow you to ski out. depending on the lenght or your screws and the height of your risers the screws may go through your ski base. an easy fix that can be taken care of when you fix your binding holes.
  8. Holly crap, I just looked at the date of your post, guess I'm a little late with the beta! nothing new there... so, how was the trip? did you go?
  9. didnt CPC relocate to Stevens Pass? was your question regarding the conditions around Snoqualmie Pass just for general information? I did a trip with CPC years ago when they were at Snoqualmie Pass and it was great! terrain was good, we hit it on a good day conditions wise, and they ran a professional, smooth operation. I skied at Stevens Pass twice last week and the conditions were great. its dumping snow up there now big time, 3' in the last two days, so I would say the snow is only getting better!
  10. the price of gas in Vegas is about the same as here (WA/OR) but everywhere else its cheaper. a friend who was down that way not long ago said gas in UT was $1.65/gal! I think prices here have dropped since then so I am sure they have dropped there too. I think it was pointed out before about those cheap flghts that those listed prices are before taxes and fees are added, which can double or even triple the price, still a good deal but you arent going to be paying only $28, more like $100. and if you fly then you still have to rent a car for the time you are there adding to the cost of a flying trip. I dont think you would have to have too many people on the bus before the cost per person is affordable/attractive. but then once you get down there with a whole bunch of people they you have to figure out how to get everyone to the different climbing areas if everyone doesnt want to go to the same trailhead/area. whatever. how many people do you have going so far?
  11. I have a pair of the regular Hardwires, I think the R8's, and I like them. work well and no problems with breakage. dont know about the CRB's.
  12. I'm in Seattle and I'm interested, what dates do you have in mind? would Fri/Sat, the 22nd & 23rd work for you? I'll send you a PM.
  13. which route? are you sticking with the North Ridge, or Kautz Glacier? something else?
  14. I know this is late notice but I will be in the area and have some time, from about noon, to kill and would like to do some climbing. short alpine climb near the Pass? afternoon at Index? another idea? if interested PM, call, whatever... Brian 206-551-3118

  17. I have always met other Yanks in Cham, havent been to Val d'Aosta yet.
  18. I think I saw some at the Habitat for Humanity outlet store, off HWY 99 just south of the West Seattle bridge, the other day. dont know what they want for it there but the rest of their prices are cheap!
  19. subject line pretty much says it all. newer ones with the moldable liner would be preferred but will consider anything available. PM, email, whatever. thanks, Brian :-) RocNoggin@juno.com
  20. how old are these? do they have the moldable liners? where are you located?
  21. for anyone going to or has been to Peru: I am thinking about going this summer but cant make it till late Aug/early Sep. my understanding is that this time frame is getting late in the climbing season, but just how late? will it work for some peaks but not all? too late, wait till next year? I havent seen any of the guide books yet, what do they say?
