Once a person knows they are about to die, Everything that matters becomes clear and the most basic need for most sane people in the world is the need to be loved. And a person who is about to die needs to express to the people they love how they feel. Nothing else matters at the point. I had a Friend die in My arms years ago, and the only thing He could worry about at that moment was making sure his Mom & Dad knew He loved them.

Gravel Pit Road off of HWY #6 about 1/2 mile south of Solcan turn off. Follow signs to Valhalla Porv Park at all tee's in raod about 20 miles ? to trail head

OK, 1st try on a trip report IV 5.9 **** Mt Gimli after a 45min inspection at the border because of "Indicators" seen on the dash board, We arrived at the trail head just after midnight on Friday The 21st, Set out on the trail Saturday morning after good coffee and grub. The Hike in was a nice 2000' in about 2 miles. After digging into the pack it did not take long to figure out I had left My harness back at the truck !*#@(*&* but made some Slings work ! The route is OUTSTANDING one of the best Alpine routes out there ! no crowds ! only 4 other climbers had signed in this month with a party half way up when we arrived. The 5.9? roof pitch was not as hard as we thought it might be, the lower 1st pitch was harder. Appox 7 plus pitches, Walk off was not Bad after finding where it starts. Round trip time truck to truck 10.5 hours ! If this Climb was anywhere near Leavenworth there would be a line waiting to climb it every weekend, Its that good!

Solo climbing is a diffrent game. Having done My share over the years and still to this day. I have had more epics with a partner then alone. I think anyone who Solos must have complete confidence in there ability, or just be a fool, and at times both ! I think groups can often get a feeling of confidence that is greater then there ability. Good Topic

Because of this Battle My Great Granddad deserted the Germany army and sneeked over the Alps with kids in tow, only to end up in Eastern Washington.

North Korea is pushing and wants to see how much we will push back, Kind of just trying to get the world to pay attation to them. I too spent time there, looked across the DMV and waved to a guard who had me in his sights. Kind of weird I was removing some old mines, but we put new ones back in there place, I spent a lot of time in the south picking up bombs farmers would find in there fields every spring. North Korea has allowed thousands of its own people to die from hunger from spending all there energy on building a nuke program, and thats sad ! but at times I think that at some point they will want a return on there investment.
