  1. yeah, i might have got my photos mixed up. We did some stuff at Index as well. Nice eye.... As for the pack, trust me- I tried to take her pack but she wouldn't have anything to do it. I don't think it slowed her down much :-) And yes, it is the Monika Johnson who died on Red mountain this past February.
  2. Trip: Leavenworth - Givler's, Regular Route, Outer Space Date: 9/10/2010 Trip Report: Thought I'd post some pictures showing a side to Monika that not many people knew about. She was getting into climbing the last few years, and beginning to lead trad routes this past summer. Not surprisingly, she was a natural. And even less surprisingly, she was always smiling.
  3. damnn, that makes me want to put my skis away! Beautiful trip you two...
  4. don't know the folks you give credit to, so I'll have to settle with drinking a few in theirs and your honor. Awesome trip (and pictures) John. And I agree with Layton about the impressiveness lying in the convergence of so many windows. wow.
  5. Sounds hairball dan. but I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Sweet looking line. Very impressive.
  6. damn John. if that's not a sign to break out the skis not sure what is. way to get after it
  7. anybody feel like climbing the south face of prussik tomorrow (saturday)? pm or call me 206 359 5514 ryan
  8. I'm too wussy to drop in blind, especially on a route like TC's. Just seems more committing. I don't know if it takes bigger cajones to drop a route like that blind. I just think being able to climb a classic and then ski one makes for one great day in the mountains. And besides, I call "bullshit". You dropped in blind on Colchuck and that's got some commitment to it :-)
  9. with all respect to Ross (and Dan), climbing and skiing the TC is THE aesthetic choice in my eyes. Nice route guys....I'm envious as all hell

  14. SUPER CLEAN by Safechoice might be a good option. I use it in construction all the time. It works pretty well at degreasing and is environmentally friendly. You can get it at EcoHaus on 1st ave S http://www.ecohaus.com/P-0012122002/Safechoice+Super+Clean+Quart Another option might be Simple Green: http://www.simplegreen.com/ It's pretty good, too
  15. Anybody with room in their vehicle going to either Vancouver/Squamish on Friday and/or coming back from either of those places on sunday?
  16. I just got around to reading this- fantastic! The opening photo is phenomenal. Nice job doods
  17. you make it sound easy, but I guess trips with that crew usually are Way to go.
  18. Nice to hear what you're up to Dan. Now don't go forgetting us up here....
  19. We were wondering where you guys went. We tried the Tahoma again on Sunday and saw no signs of you except for your tent. I thought I looked hard at the SAC but I guess not hard enough. Good effort dudes-I wouldn't have wanted to do that approach on foot. And how about that crashing serac? Holy crap that was impressive!! Anyway, glad to see you made such good use of that freeze on sat night.
  20. We only had about 80 ft of rap cord, and the cliffs between us and the col were well beyond 40ft. We could have retraced our steps a bit and skied down approx 1500 ft before taking an easy skin to the col, like Volken suggests, but that would have guaranteed another night out. We didn't want to get caught on steep south slopes late in the day so we decided to just turn around.
  21. East fork of Foss River, near Skykomish. Snow was skinable at about 3000'
