  1. oh YES I will..... to you my lord...now YOU have a fan girl!!
  2. your having too much fun with this! I am NO fan girl...I have never read about or watched her before this video. Never even heard her name. So not a fan just respect...
  3. No one here questions how amazing this is (I think), but think of it much like guys watching the Miss Universe contest and critiquing a mole on an amazing girls' thigh..... No, it's not this at all. Climbing skill and douchiness of personality are independent of one another. Nobody was picking at a miniscule aspect of her climbing skill. It is more like laughing at Miss South Carolina's incomprehensible rant. Well then if ya all can't stand to listen to her then put it on mute and start jerking off to a hot chick climbing. seems thats all you all want to see from the gal. I think you are all just jealous cause she can do what you all can't. Climb and make $ doing it!
  4. Rockin Tr! I love the videos! Good stuff!
  5. Rooster...hahaha!!! that's awesome!! my landlords have chickens and a rooster "reggie". I get fresh eggs anytime i want!! Worth reggie screaming at 5am!
  6. Come on guys!! WTF!?! The chick does a kick ass solo and they make a good video of it. Then you all sit here behind your computers and pick apart the fact that she shares her feeling and thoughts about climbing it. WTF!?! She did something many of you freaks will NEVER do!!! (I said a"few" cause i know there are a few who posted that can.) If ya just want grunts and groans without words, feelings and thoughts then go watch a video of pigs fucking! I love the video and she inspires me...just like many of you do.
  7. Trip: Ingalls 'Up and Over' - East ridge Date: 8/19/2009 Trip Report: I am still high from this trip. I can’t stop smiling! All giddy, I am. This is the song I have been singing in my head from the minute I climbed into the gully and started to scramble. Enjoy the tune as you read through or look at the pics or whatever you do when you click the TR…. [video:youtube] It seems that I am on a mission to clean up some unfinished peaks this season. 2006 was a funky year for me and I had several peaks I bailed on. This year I am cleaning up many of those, hopefully by more fun and more difficult routes. I scrambled Ingalls south peak about 9 yrs ago. I bailed on the SF 3 yrs ago. I was sick (from sheer stupidity the night before) and to tell the truth I was a chikenshit. Yeah I know who bails on 2 easy pitches of 5.4 on the SF? I DID! After that attempt I told myself I would not do that route again. It just seems a bit boring and crowded for me now. I wanted something more fun with some mystery to it and a bit more challenging. I e-mail birddog and put the bug in his ear about Ingalls East Ridge. The bug must have gotten to him because he was up for it. I thought it would be fun to camp over night and then we could be fresh and have all day to play on the ridge if we needed. Sunset was nice. Lots of smoke in the valleys that cleared by morning. A couple of fun goats hung around camp in the morning. I thought they might eat my bivy sac during the day but they left it alone. We scrambled up the C3-C4 gully to the chock stone. Go left folks!!! Easy scramble up. Don’t go into the gully proper (right spotly! ) The first pitch from the chock stone is kinda funky. It zigs then zags up low C5 and then around the north side to a 10’ down climb. There are 3 small down climbs on the entire ridge. The first one is the most airy one, or it seemed that way for me. I was a bit puckered. On this first pitch I reached up for a hand hold and felt the rock come off in my hand. WTF!!!! YIKES!!! So, after a bit of cleaning and sending some rock down the gully I was able to continue on. This was the only real loose rock I had any trouble with. shot looking back at the 1st pitch... The ridge is great fun!! I would say more fun than the crowded SF route IMO. The ridge zigzags quite a bit. It has class 4 and low class 5 for most of the climb. There is a 5.7 crux that was FUN! It has small cool traverses. Just a great mix of everything. SOOOO much fun! There is quite a bit of rope drag due to the zigs and the zags. 5 pitches later we could not climb anymore. I wanted to keep going and going and going. I didn’t want the fun to stop! pics of 2nd pitch 3rd pitch 5.7(?) crux peeeerrrrty... There is a colony of biting flying ants on the summit. We rappelled the SF. Despite what some folks say the down climb from the second rap is NOT bad at all!!! EASY! Just one 60m rope will do ya. Two is just a waist of your effort to carry. No other parties on the peak on Tuesday. We had it all to ourselves. Monday there were at least 3-4 climb parties, including a friend and his partner who just finished the SF. I ran into them on their way out. Good seeing ya Doug! I want to thank Geoff (birddog) for the lead, laughs and just plain ol great time!!! Thank you for a great climb again!! Gear Notes: 60m rope will do for the raps if you are comfy down climbing an easy 10 foot section. Small rack of nuts/hexes. We used a couple of small cams here and there. A #3 cam will get you through the crux. Approach Notes: EASY!!!!!
  8. couple of friends went up aug 1st. here is their tr with lots of pics. http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7977512&highlight=
  9. ohhh so you didn't use the helmet cam...whatever !!!! hahah! j/k still look forward to your next helmet cam or not ...installment. ;-)
  10. Sheesh! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. One of the best reports i have read in a while. Good work.
  11. I am so happy you got that helmet cam! The music is perfect. I really like the lead in and out with the shots of the grasses and then the falls on your descent. That is all part of alpine climbing too and you showed how pretty it is. Thanks! Can't wait for the next video...
  12. An incredible piece of writing. Thank you for sharing.
  13. pssst....hey paul. I know your poking at me a bit as I am one of the only ones who posts trs on all three sites. But ya know what? "You can" and did. Go for it cause you have me allllll wrong. Plus i thought it was absolutely hilarious!!! I post on all three because of many reasons. Never to chestbeat as that would hurt like hell! (plus have you read my reports? no chest beating, just fun, and me slamming myself for being slow and everything else i may screw up. Nothing impressive about me or what i do!) I have these juggy things that get in the way! I post to meet more folks, make new friends and partners. It works as i have met tons of great folks from all three forums. I just wish you had spent more time and put a tr just lampooning me so I can't get all the glory I CRAVE. Come on if your gonna do it, do it right!!
  14. cool!! that week of 100 degree weather did some serious damage to the snow the hills. there were 3-4 floating chunks of ice left when we arrived on sat. By the end of the day sunday it was all gone. Last time i was up there 2 yrs ago, (same month 1 week earlier) Cyclone was still partially frozen. thanks for the pics! Your first shot is nice!
  15. I have not laughed like this in a long time...it hurts and i need a tissue. what i wanna know is, what the FKT is for Senator Poopy Head? I bet poopy head did double your distance! I know poopy head had to have been faster than you with 4x4 and all.
  16. bummer about the FA. I had to crack up with your naming the gully "Gully of Doom" cause that is what i named the pass with steep snow and rock fall the, "pass of doom" on the same peak. dammit! I didn't sign the summit register either. oh well... great trip and report as usual! the #6 image is friggen awesome!!!!
  17. yes anymore details and or photos would be great! Awesome traverse! I just may have to check it out sometime. Thanks for sharing
  18. thanks The lighting was off and weird due to the smoke in the air. Kinda cool though. Here is one more I could not leave out. Found Lake one of the many beautiful lakes in the area.
  19. Trip: Snowking - Kindy Ridge Date: 8/1/2009 Trip Report: I had so much fun with Will and Chris when we did Dragontail, I figured it was time get out with them again. I wanted to do Blum. But they wimped out the night before, due to the heat. Well , I’m glad they did cause the place we went was easier and I had terrible heat issues. Blum would have killed me on the 5500’ gain ridge in this heat with no water anywhere on the ridge. So if not Blum then what? I had only a couple of hours to come up with something in the NC. I was drawing blanks and got tipped off to Trapper peak and Thornton peak. Easy, mostly trail hiking and light scrambling. That will work, it will be really easy and fit in with comfort level of my partners. Sure let’s do it! Friday night, driving to meet up with the guys and get rolling. Some friends trying for Triumph permits called me from the Rangers station. No camp permits for the area! Grrrrrr……. So now here I am with another trip shot. I have to come up with some ideas in 30 minutes while I drive to meet the guys. Gear may be an issue. Trapper we needed no gear but ice axe just in case we hit steep snow ( I doubt we would have used them??). No helmets, no crampons, beta, maps… crap!! 2 peaks came to mind right away. Snowking and sahale. These are two peaks I know the routes on and needed no beta. Maps would be an easy fix. There may be a permit issue for sahale too. No permit needed for Snowking. Will had already been up snowking 2 xs. I had an attempt on snowking in 2006 and was shut down by over 100 degree temps in the sun on the ridge to the summit. I was willing to get back up there again to get it done. I present the guys with my ideas as we drove north. We headed to snowking TH. I could not remember the road but will was right but we were a bit unsure as it was dark and Will doesn’t have a gazetteer in his car! That is a must have piece of gear that stays in the car Will!!! We parked at a wash out that his fancy car with 1 inch of clearance could not cross. (Little did we know we were .3 miles or so to the road block for snowking. ) We commence in more dehydration shenanigans. Hit the sac. We decided to go the ranger’s station to check to see if there are permits for sahale and check maps to see if we were at the right road for snowking…oh and grab some breakfast. No permits left for Sahale…Shocker! Snowking it is. Ok …You were right Will, I was wrong…;-)! We camped on the road to snowking. I grabbed some maps. We didn’t need them as we both had been there before but hey yeh never know. Plus I lOVE MAPS!!! I was paying for the maps and RandyB and Don B walk in getting the last permit for Triumph. Good to run into ya guys!! Off we go for the 3 mile soul sucking road walk. 3 yrs ago I was able to drive within 2 miles or so. Before they put the boulder s up. I remembered a large tree in a wash out ravine I drove too. The tree in not there anymore but there are several more washouts. The path up the ridge is still the steep grueling slog it was before just more detours around down fall. I was very hot and had no appetite and nauseous. I was drinking more than I ever do but still not enough. I was guzzling it down and sit overheated and thirsty. That part Sucked!! We had a blast hiking up the ridge lots of laughs!! LOTS!! We set up camp at the Cyclone Lake. Awesome spot. I really had to force my meal down. I could only eat half. The night was VERY warm. The winds died and never came back for the rest of the trip. We woke up to Smokey smell and still thick warm air. Tons of skeeters!! Views out …wait… what views…I could barely see Eldorado!!! The smoke was thick and no wind to move it! About 9am on the ridge approach in the sun I needed to eat for more energy so I sucked down a GU. That worked for a while. I tried a cliff bar and immediately vomited it right back up. We continue up and it is incredibly hot! My thermometer in the sun was reading 112! Still no breeze at all! I was sweating out more than I could put in and keep in!! I was dry heaving or losing water! It was pissing me off! I was not goanna turn back again for the same damn reason as last time. This time it was worse though. Damn this ridge!! I know my limits though and pushed on. I puked my way up the summit. Steep snow up to the saddle and a moat to play in gets me on the scramble up. FUN!!! I try and eat…NOPE. Still no breeze at 11am as we descend. Puking and gagging my way down we got back to camp quickly. Will was the first to jump in the tarn the Chris and them me. That was the best thing I ever did!!! I felt great!! My core temp went down (that was the problem) and I was able to eat some stuff and keep it down and dark some emergency. I was good to go. Wait… we have to ascend all those bumps on the ridge in this heat!! Whaaa!! ;-) It was ok though, I did get way too hot but it didn’t last forever I just had to stop at the snow patch and stick my head in the snow! The descent was a bone cruncher but I always like that kind. I will not have to go back up that ridge again...oh wait, unless I do Mutchler... ahh crap!! Need to find another route for Mutchler... I had such an absolute blast even if sick from heat exhaustion the entire trip. I laughed so much that my voice in horse !! Not kidding! Thanks guys… your great!! The pics didn’t come out too great this time as the lighting was odd and off during the golden hours. But the place is so pretty I have to share some with ya. Completely ignore the huge scratch on my lens… . Gear Notes: ice axe Approach Notes: steep and grueling when hot!!! Road is starting to fill in with just a single track. plenty of new downfall across and through the climbers track up the ridge. Route is easy to follow. Stupid tape everywhere. I removed many unnecessary pieces.

    Getting Old sucks

I have found thru partners and my own painful experience that not climbing and/or hiking consistently, one will take on more injuries and pain when getting out. even if you work out at home. The hills, true alpine climbing and trecking are different (too me anyways) than pavement, stairs, plastic, and so on...Not that any of that hurt cause it only helps! I know this from my own experience. I am older now and it fucking hurts to get out of shape and kill myself getting back into shape!! Most all have done till this year has been off the couch. Not anymore! knees hurt for the first time...along with my other injuries i have been nursing (torn rotor cuff in shoulder OUCH, and a torn labrum in hip...double ouch!) Only the past 2 yrs have been trouble for me. I have learned this year that I can't do things off the couch anymore.... i hate gyms and all that running and workout crap!! So i get out and hike around at local spots and try and crag and stuff as much as possible during the busy alpine season. oh and vitamin 'I' and whiskey is my true remedy during long multi day trips... !!! Not kidding! not that my rambling helps ya...haha! hope things get better for ya!
  21. Add on 2 extra miles for a bit. Not sure how long. Thunder storms washed out the road and sent even more avi debris on the road, yesterday. It had folks trapped up at the TH but they were able to squeak them by. pics
