  1. I miss the Bubbleator in the Seattle Center House. And there was this spooky shop in the basement of the Center House--something like "Madame 's House of Mystery." Wish I could go back and check out that place as an adult. It was irresistibly creepy when I was a kid. Of course, that was back in the 70s. Um, like, 40 years ago.
  2. "Condoms, not condos"?
  3. Shootin' pool and buying pitchers at the Sloop! Brings back memories...
  4. How will we find our way around the city without landmarks?

    1 sandal

I'd still be standing there, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
  6. To this day, I miss Scott Hall. A fun, warm-hearted guy. I learned to climb with him, and Jimmy Hinkhouse was on the first alpine climb I led, Ingalls in the Stuart range. It was so hard to accept that they were just--gone. The two of them, and Thomas Downey, who I didn't know, died that spring while climbing the West Buttress. IIRC, it appeared that they climbed into a crevasse to wait out a storm, and were buried by snow or glacier debris.

    "it is what it is"

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."
  8. What will my boss say when she sees that? The offense, the offense.
  9. So. Are you still glued to your couch?

    YAY! ARCHIE'S BACK

    in order of size, please
  11. If you're married, you're probably taken for granted, though. You hit it right on the...er telescope?
  12. We often take for granted people we love the most.
  13. Just when you thought a thread was dead... Fully featured is hard to argue with. But Treetoad has a telescoping...er, what was it?

  15. Yeah, I think this thread has passed its expiration date.
  16. Yeah, Nordy's semi-yearly sale gets me a little excited, too. I totally get that, TT.
  17. Yeah, well, if you shop the semi-yearly mens sale, you have to go to each sale, because the men always disappear after a coupla months. Sorry to Jenny for corrupting her thread with this nonsense. And, hey, love the way the quotes telescope. Welcome back, C. You forget your password or what? And yes, we are, like, weird. It's why you luv us. It's my semi-yearly delurking season (sort of like the semi-yearly womens sale at Nordstrom, only different). The rest of the year I watch. And wait. What are the sale prices on women like at Nordstrom's? If you have to ask you can't afford them. The purchase price is the least consideration. The maintenance costs are what will bleed you dry. And the resale value is typically very low. Resale value!?...don't you usually have to pay to get rid of? That's just the beginning. You might be on the hook for years afterwards. It's like a Superfund site. Even after you thought you were in the clear, you keep having to pay for the clean-up for years. If they can find you...

  19. You guys are, like, weird.

    Ode to Thai Tom

Was just going to say, my favorite name for a Thai restaurant is Tup Tim Thai. Mmm, Thai food. Could eat it every day. It's what's for dinner.

    Poll

Wide, I assume. that was pretty friggin' funny. and no one laughed, out loud at least. sheesh. I LOLd. However, this begs the question: if a LOL occurs in the wilderness, and there is no one else there to hear it, is it really a LOL? Or is it just an L?
