  1. I may be a breedist but mostly I am a sizist. Big dogs of most breeds will act as the dominant pack leader. Children and most adults do not understand this. All I am saying is "keep your ("you" as in all dog owners) dogs under control" and I will do my best to stay out of your way and keep my children out of your way. It is when people assume their loving pets are just as important as people that I get pissed. Anyone who has kids and dogs knows what I mean. Your dog does not have the right to play in an area like the lower town wall at the expense of my kids' experience. You might like me. I am a lot like a dog in many ways. The problem is people get so attached to their dogs that they forget they are dogs and will behave as dogs. Dogs see us people as strange dogs that just don’t get it. Dogs are dog and not people. The human emotions we see in dogs are just that, what we see. They are form a human perspective. Try thinking about life from a dogs perspective and it changes fast. It is a pack and not a family. The dog belongs some where with in the pack collective. Larger dogs tend the act in the alpha male role. I would never have a large male dog with children in the house. A few years ago I was bitten by a dog while running. I was huffing and puffing up a hill and almost to the top when I see this guy coming down with his dog on a leash. As I go to pass him the dog suddenly jumps out and bites me and this out of no where, no warning barking or posturing. The owner does not know what to say or do. As it turns out this dog lives just a block from where I got bit. This dog has been barking at me for a long time. Every time I run past him he ran to the fence and barked at me. Now he was out side and had a chance to get at me and was not going to pass up the opportunity. You see, it is a dog! It is what dogs do. They protect their pack. The dog saw me as another dog, and he was going to make sure I knew he was the boss. Dogs are dogs and not people.
  2. Yeah man, Translated from Chinese, “Crows are black the world around”. Meaning all politicians are dirty or all politicking is dirty. This concept of manipulating and using people is black or dirty. And it does not change over time or distance.
  3. I was just reading an inner office e-mail about how much money our company employees donated to the China Earthquake Relief Fund with the Red Cross. Then I surfed back to cc.com and saw your thread and just about pooped my pants. I did not see on your link the magnitude of that earthquake. The destruction caused by natural disasters really disturbs me.
  4. We have a great military, capable, motivated, competent. I'm an Army veteran myself. ... Bush's "regime change, welcome us like liberators" bullshit is unbelievable. Were you there in Iraq? No, J2/J3 operations in Panama and Chile, does that matter? Yes it does. I agree with what you implied, “there is a lot of miss leading being done by the media”. I can not know the truth from what I get from our media sources; no one can unless they were there.
  5. At least the truth comes out. Fuck the race. Climb. Then when the weather starts sucking in October, let's watch the debates and vote for or against one of the fucknuts. Hey, I got a hall pass from the wife for the weekend of June 14! CLIMB ON!
  6. That is not true, and you are doing a good job at twisting my words around to mean what you what them to mean.
  7. I think we will adjust to $4 gas if only it would stay that low. It is anticipated to rise. Bush's support of "exporting" jobs to third world countries has contributed to their increase in oil consumption. Does this sound a bit selfish? maybe, but we do have to look out for number one. It has been debated that rising investing in oil has caused artificial increases in cost, just like with the dot com industry years ago and the housing market not so long ago. Bush's involvement in an unpopular middle east war has not set well with other arab leaders and OPEC. THere are lots of reasons for increased oil prices, and a responsive government could in fact help lower those costs. Yes, I think $4 gas is great. I would prefer to see 8 or 9 dollar gas. It will grow our economy in new ways. We will get creative on how to use gas. We will develop new technologies for transportation. Clean, better, more efficient. None of this will happen until AFTER the market place demands it.
  8. At least the truth comes out. I have never hidden from the truth about my political ideas. I am a FAR right republican. I am so far right, I might be miss understood as an extremely left hippy.
  9. Hey, as long as the domocrates are frustrated I am happy!
  10. You are being foolish or naive. $4.00/gallon gas is because of a growing global economy. Unlike what happened in the 70's where it oil prices shot up because of artificially created shortage of supply. Allow the market place to correct the higher costs of Gas, and it will find alternatives. Continued chasing down the dirty rat bastard! HELL YES! And after Iraq, Iran. When they get the bomb they are going to bomb Israel, they are going to bomb France, they are going to bomb Germany, they are going to bomb the UK, and then they are going to find a long range delivery system and bomb us. Pull your head out of the sand! The devaluation of the dollar has made it so I get much more money for my exports. The value of the dollar is determined by the supply and demand for that dollar. As other emerging markets develop they will shift demand away from the green back. As the US economy slows those other markets will slow more and international investors will shift make to the green back and strengthen the dollar. The value of the Dollar is only relative. It is a doubled edge sword with both good and bad effects of being weak or strong. Loss of world respect because we don't kiss ass any more. Now we Kick ASS! WOW! Everything is just going great, isn't it??? For me it is!
  11. Rah Rah Rah, just like a football game is how you come across. Nothing wrong with defending ourselves, I supported the Afgan military response. We have a great military, capable, motivated, competent. I'm an Army veteran myself. However, we have misquided leadership and do not seem to know when to end a conflict. Bush's "regime change, welcome us like liberators" bullshit is unbelievable. Were you there in Iraq?
  12. From your perspective, what's the problem with $4/gallon gas, and what would you like the government to do to reduce the price? NOTHING! Absolutely nothing. Allow the market place to work its magic. Do I like spending $4? NO! But if that is the market so be it. It will give the opportunity for other cleaner fuels to make it into the distribution.

  14. There will be change in the White House. It is inevitable. To go around declaring change is foolishness. It is like stepping out side in a down poor and exclaiming “it’s raining”. Obama’s whole campaign is based on stating the obvious; change. Hey, he is just another Politian just that he is from Chicago.
  15. Now, now, be nice. None of that language please.
  16. A moveon.org types are the same as the PETA type. Those who need to get a life. Just in case anyone missed this but regardless of the November presidential election results there is going to be a change in the White House. You see, the incumbent is not running. Get it? It is quite simple if you were to stop and think about it. When McCain is elected he will NOT carry on with the same domestic policies as our President Bush. However as far as the war effort goes if Obama, Clinton (and it will not be her) were elected then they will continue with the same basic policies and plans as President Bush. Yeah there is going to be change and Obama states the obvious in manner that makes him look like a genius. So like Clinton before President Bush, Obama is slick, very slick. And that is what makes him so appealing.
  17. Trip: Mt. Si - Scramble Date: 5/26/2008 Trip Report: I was planning on a short and easy hike with my wife and children, when my daughter hurt her heel and the wife decided that she will stay home. So my son (12) and I got a last minute hall pass to do something. He has never climbed Si, and lately has been bragging about no longer having any fears of heights….. So Monday morning we were off to the super highway that is Mt. Si. We started hiking at 10:00 am and after many “no, we are not there yet” and “It is just around the next switchback”, finally we made it to the bench just bellow the scramble at 11:47. Nice work! After a few PB&J’s, Bananas and Rice Crispy snacks we were feeling refreshed and time to take a look at that scramble. We started up the scramble and I pointed out to him where we wanted to go. Off he went. About half way up he slows, and than stops. Looks around and asks, “How far up did my little sister make it before she turned around?” Oops. Not a good question. Many thoughts were flashing through my mind in an instant. Does he want to stop because he is not comfortable? He looks strong and can make it. But I don’t want him to compare himself to his sister. In my understanding climbing is not about competing against others. I don’t want him to get in the habit of forcing himself into something beyond his ability just because someone else does it. So I says to him, “First of all your sister went a little further than you are now, but you don’t need to worry about what you sister did, or did not do. You already made it past how far I went my first time on this scramble. You need to go only as far as you are comfortable, and that will be great!” With in a few short minute later we were standing on top of Hay Stack and my son exclaimed, “Wow! What a great view!” And it was. As we started down off the top my son was totally freaked out! I think he showed a lot of courage coming down, but we made it back to the car. Then it was time to head into North Bend to that Scotties Dairy Freeze, The Burger Joint to collect the obligatory Double Bacon Cheese Burger. Well, at least for the 12 year old. Gear Notes: Advil Approach Notes: Cash for Bugers
  18. You know, that sounds like fun. I am going to start doing that plan more with my son. Pack, and come into work on Friday, and have my wife drop off my son on Friday night, and take off from work. Hike into a lake and then go bag some peaks on Saturday. Spend the Saturday night out in the woods and pack it out on Sunday. What a plan! You are a genius. Oh, as for the weather, I have two words, Gore Tex, Back Packing Tarps. I grew up in Western Washington and learned at a very young age if you are going to wait for good weather to do something then you will never do it. Best of all I AM A REPUBLICAN!!!! Oh as for this weekend, I will take the family on a hike. My wife does not want to even get close to any snow, so no Mt. bagging.
  19. Oh, and BTW I am not running for public office. Hillary, on the other hand, while being interviewed said 22% want her to quit, 22% want obma to quit and 64% of the people want it to go the distance.... Yeah, right. WE and she wants to lead our country??? (we need an Icon with a a stick being shuved up her butt!)
  20. I see you were never good at math. Public schools? This is Florida - the other 20% are kept in reserve at Katharine Harris's office No, no, you forget that 20% of the voters don't care and are not going to vote.
  21. Hillary has no chance to make it back into the White House. Basically there are 20% of the people are going to vote D no matter what, and 20% of the people are going to vote R no matter what. It is that 40% in the middle that count. They will not vote for a Clinton. No way, no how. It ain't gonna happen. The American people will not accept America to be run by the same two families for 24 years. If Hillary gets the nod by the D's then the R' could put up Bozo the Clown and win by a landslide. As much as I think the D's don't know what they are talking about, I am sure they do realize Hillary ain't got a chance. never did.
  22. Now there is a standard contradiction for you! "Decent" and "honorable" are not terms I would associtate with anything the democrats have done since FDR.
