  1. MVS-Thanks for sharing your story. Made me think. Hope your partner (and You) heal quick.
  2. Could not agree more!! Good post! I think the learning curve involved with BC skiing clouds the advantageous qualities at first.
  3. Clicking the mouse with his birkenstocks was awsome!! That was money!!!
  4. Is that Hunter Creek Dru? Fred launched his Tercel through that, but it wasn't nearly that big.
  5. "I didn't find Slollicum too bad, either. Fun at night" When did you do it? Slollicum FSR was gated two years ago for active logging. CanFor have apparently re-constructed the mainline, and de-built two of the spurs trending northwest. If you did it as recently as then, the road is probably in better shape than when I did it about 5 years ago. "The north Joffre is so overgrown now you would need an industrial lawnmower to get through. The other forks on N Joffre are in pretty good shape, in fact there's active logging on one of them." The north fork was driveable 5 years ago (it was cleared by Ian H and Greg H), but I skied it last year and found that it had "aldered itself". This is where the active logging is taking place. The company I work for lost out on the bid 2 years ago to perform the layout
  6. .....in no order: 1. Kwoiek Creek (Creek xing) 2. North Kwoiek Creek (hell) 3. Chehalis-Mystery Creek (washouts/large de-activation) 4. Paleface-Meroniuk (including Chilli Lake road potholes) (debris slides) 5. Charles Creek (Urq/Med) in the last two months. (washout/trees/de-activation) 6. Molybdenite Creek (upper reaches) (30% Mining Track/Rockfall) 7. East Wilson Creek-Hicks Creek FSR (see above) 8. Skookum Creek (unreal de-activation/washout) 9. Mamquam L-Line (see above) 10. Final Approach of Lost/Terepocki Creek (North/East Stave) 11. Blowdown Creek/Pass (mining track/washout) 12. North Joffre Creek (for alder) 13. North Lizzie Creek FSR (rockfall/erosion/washout/incredibly unhealthy bridge) 14. Slollicum Creek (creek xing/washouts) 15. ....and the worst of all Glacier Creek road for the groomed out sled track that ices up at about the same time you're driving down after climbing Baker.

    thanks!

Good luck Mike. Appreciated what you have contributed on this site, and especially on the Bivouac site up here (north).
  10. Nice! Glad to see Robin could make it with his truck. I've walked the Paleface Mainline twice now. Don F and I bailed on Nodoubt last fall....good lookin peak! Did Fred break trail the entire day? Or does he just do that for me
  11. The obvious sarcasm, and the fact that I called out Peter Horton's performance (sarcastically) would mean I am alluding to the movie (sarcastically). Pssssst....it was a joke!
  12. Into Thin Air is the bomb!! Anatoli Boukreev is evil! They play the scary music whenever he enters the scene....and Peter Horton has never been better!
  13. Ya wanna buy my Jeep J? It's as good as any ATV....I promise
  14. "And Dru, you'll be happy to know that we met a fine group of Canadian skiers Sat. night around 8 pm as they were descending the mountain after summiting shortly before sunset. They skied up to our tent after I turned the headlamp on after hearing them scraping their way down the icy slopes of Heliotrope Ridge. They were all smiles after a pretty long day, with more to go. Of course I'm just jumping to conclusions about them being Canadian, but with the core ski day, as well as all the "eh's" and talk of centimeters and beer, I'm just assuming...." Atomic, That was myself and my climbing partner, we could see your headlamps all the way from below the col. The slopes below the coleman glacier were great for skiing, a real surprise as the rest of the mountain was breakable shit. And yes, we are Canadian. Beer and the metric system is the shit!
  15. I will 2nd the consevative approach with the temperature. You will love your G-Fit liners. Now if we could only get some snow....
  16. Anybody know exactly what Jia skied on Skihist. I had heard it was on the "north-east side".
  17. Great effort by Andrew! I belly flopped my way up that chimney while seconding
  18. "and you are just fucking bitter that the only camera crew that tracked you down was after you won the Chilliwack Dungeons and Dragons Marathon" Fucking Gold!!!
