simple- the length of the weapon and ability to hide. there is a minimum lenght issue. my point is that i am not agains gun ownership. have a gun, have a hangun if you want. but there is simply not enough safety and not enough enforcement. It is illegal for any rifle to be under 26" long or to have a barrel that is shorter than 16" according to federal law. It does not matter if it is classified as an assault rifle or not The charactoristics that make a rifle an assault rifle are largely cosmetic I am sure that you can think of many arguments against gun ownership. None of them really matter. The fact is that our Constitutions allows citizens to keep and bear fireams. If you don't like this fact than you should change the Constitution with an amendment. Conrad

Now your ignorance is really showing. The agreement at Yalta is a lot more complicated than just the major powers dividing the world up into pieces. It was required to allow the allies to concentrate on the main task at hand which was defeating Germany and Japan. It also just recognised the fact that the Western powers were not going to fight against Russia to free the countries it occupied. The agreement did not give or sell Poland or any other country to the USSR. In fact the agreement called for free elections after the war. It is not our fault that Stalin did not fullfill the agreement. Blame the Polish people for cooperating with the Russians. Blame Stalin and Russia for taking control of Poland. Blame Hitler for defeating Poland in WWII. Blame the Polish people and government for failing to defend their country against the Germans. You cannot blame the USA for what happened to Poland. We were under no obligation to free Poland from the Russians. You should be grateful that we stood up to the USSR and eventually defeated them. We freed you after fighting for 50 years against your oppressor and all you do is blame us for things that we could not do and did not do. Pretty sick! Conrad

Why dont you try using facts and logic to counter our arguments ? We believe in exercising our rights to "keep and bear arms" as specified in the constitution. Gays can get married. They can marry people of the opposite sex just like everyone else. They are not discriminated against. Further more, the definition of marriage is that it is between a man and a women. Conrad

At they time the 2nd ammendment was written the main defense force in the USA was the militia. This consisted of just about every adult male who could afford to equip themselves with weapons. They trained and drilled periodically and this training included shooting their weapons. When an enemy attacked our country the government called up the militia to defend our country. If you doubt this then check out the war of 1812. The people need to "keep and bear arms" because they had to be ready to fight and that meant they needed to know how to shoot their weapons. This had nothing to do with a standing army or police, national guard and all the branches of military. Further more, it says in plain english that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed". Even if the term militia refers to "police, national guard and all the branches of military" the fact that the people have the right to keep and bear arms is still true. Liberals just want to prevent honest people from owning guns because they are facists. They feel that they are better than everyone else and have the right to manage everyone's life. It is intellectually dishonest to interpret the 2nd ammendment to say that the people do not have the right to keep and bear arms. If you want to change the 2nd ammendment then be honest about it. The honest way to change the constitution is to ammend it. If you can do this to the 2nd ammendment then what is to prevent someone else from doing the same to the other ammendments. I am sure that the 1st ammendment could be interpreted to allow the govenment to establish an official religion of the USA and prevent people from critizing the government. His inspiring movie Farenhite 9/11 showed the truth about President Bush! How could you have lost ? It must have been cheating!
