  16. purchased new in 2007. Used twice by prior owner; never by me. 183 cm Black Diamond Havoc AT skis. "Alpinist" Climbing Skins, cut to fit, with "Cheat Sheet" glue transfers. Dynafit Bindings (with detachable ski leashes.) Garmont "Megaride" boots with moldable liner, sz 13. These boots are mounted for the Dynafits but are compatible with other AT bindings. As you can see from the pics this stuff is in nice shape. Ski season's almost here; get after it! $650 o/b/o takes all. I am in Portland but may be able to deliver to Seattle.
  17. http://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/wilderness-trail-conditions.htm I'm looking at similar hikes for next week; midweek. On account of the fire closures, Olympics options are limited. Do you require a scramble? I suspect it's a little late in the season for Mystery or Deception, but am no expert. My itinerary, which I would appreciate suggestions on, is: Dungeness Forks Gray Wolf River Gray Wolf Pass Dose Meadows Lost Pass Cameron Pass Three Forks Dungeness Forks it's about 47 miles. It would be shorter to drop in from Deer Park. I was looking at Skyline Ridge too. Did you come back down the Quinault River?
  18. "Our health care system is based on the premise that health care is a commodity like VCRs or computers and that it should be distributed according to the ability to pay in the same way that consumer goods are. That's not what health care should be. Health care is a need; it's not a commodity, and it should be distributed according to need. If you're very sick, you should have a lot of it. If you're not sick, you shouldn't have a lot of it. But this should be seen as a personal, individual need, not as a commodity to be distributed like other marketplace commodities. That is a fundamental mistake in the way this country, and only this country, looks at health care. And that market ideology is what has made the health care system so dreadful, so bad at what it does." - attributed to Marcia Angell. She was on Bill Moyers last night; you should check her work out Gary.
