  1. Here's what I did, http://hydrogenplusstupidity.blogspot.com/
  2. Now that the #2 most wanted man is dead, who will the white house spin doctors create to replace him? After all without a bogeyman or monster under the bed, won't funding and support for the occupation dry up? I know what you're thinking, Osama is still in that cave out there or hanging out around the pool down in Crawford, Tx. but I hardly hear him mentioned anymore. So to help the script writers in DC in their search for the next "Al-Qaida Idol", I've compiled a few snippets from the daily rags: He would have to be fleet footed - "The White House on Thursday also linked al-Zarqawi to the execution of 20 bus passengers near Baquba last weekend, and the separate discovery of nine heads in boxes along a road near the city." A double agent - "many speculated that he was either an American creation or, at the very least, a convenient foil whose reputation and role the U.S. military encouraged and exaggerated in Iraq. (It was disclosed earlier this year that the military had launched a psychological campaign to magnify his role.)" A religious man - "godfather of sectarian violence in Iraq" An entertainer - "Zarqawi was a showman and a renegade, playing to radical Islam" And a west point graduate - "He certainly has been a mastermind for terrorism and the insurgency" This will be a tall order but as long as the Bushites are in control I expect a new and more sinister evil doer to emerge into the TV addled consciousness of America.
  3. Since we're helping out the evil empire in Afganistan we are branded as targets ourselves. We made the correct decision not to join in the Iraq occupation/oilgrab but the Canadian thing to do would have been to hold a nationwide referendum on the Ahgan matter. Either that or the Jihadis think that our virgins are better up here.
  4. What were they thinking? http://porktornado.diaryland.com/albumcover.html
  5. Organized religion is only a congame played on the weak minded by a small group of power hungry zealots.
  6. "Forget about Iraq, Iran, foreign debt, global warming and Katrina(oops already did)we gotta stop those fudge packers. Rummy, Chertoff, raise the alert to Pink- Attack from sword swallowers likely. From the DHS site... All Americans, including those homophobics in the bible belt, should continue to be vigilant, take notice of men dressed in black leather or latex, and report suspicions items, bulk condom purchases to local authorities immediately.
  7. If you're going up around Whistler, this gives you a more detailed alpine forecast http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/weather/forecast/alpine/index.htm
  8. Here are some pix of the Hurley from a few weeks ago on my blog. http://hydrogenplusstupidity.blogspot.com/
  9. I took a 20 degree synth bag + a thin overbag to Aconcagua. Wore my DAS parka and a few nites filled my platypus up with hot water and put it under the parka. I was never cold. Used a 5/8 " yellow hardman pad with a thinner inflatable on top. Heat is generated by our body not the sleeping bag so eat and drink correctly and you will have less problems.

    GAS

A reliable way to check a sleeping bags temp rating is how long it contains the stink from really foul farts. Afterwards it's fun to vent it directly into your partners face as he sleeps.
  11. Climb: Mt. Garabaldi- Date of Climb: 4/22/2006 Trip Report: Ideal conditions, no problems...until. Check out my blog for pix http://hydrogenplusstupidity.blogspot.com/ click on pix to enlarge. Anybody else ever have that happen to them??
  12. What we need is a decider to decide.
  13. Check out my post in the *freshiezone. It has pix of last weekends Garabaldi attempt via Brohm ridge. The road would be a bit tough on with a 2 wheel drive car, ez walking tho.
  14. With GWB finger on the Iran nuke button, all things are possible.
  15. Climb: Garabaldi/Brohm ridge- Date of Climb: 4/16/2006 Trip Report: Jason, NIck and I skiied up Brohm ridge with the North Face of Garabaldi as our objective. The weather was poor and we couldn't see making it with the time and food we had remaining but we had a great time and got some good turns in. check out pix on my blog http://hydrogenplusstupidity.blogspot.com/ click to enlarge the photos Approach Notes: Snow lines starts at about the 5 km mark on the road.

    Bullshit

I hope I never have to say genre or evocative.
  17. You guys down there need "a regime change" before the worlds #1 terrorist strikes again. A simultaneous attack on N. Korea sounds like a great idea too, GW. Actually why stop there, just nuke the whole world.
  18. So I've been wearing an Avalung for a while now but lately have heard some disparaging comments about it. I don't start any of these conversations and don't go into the backcountry to argue with these retards, but they don't seem to understand the concept behind the device. Any other Avalung users getting the same treatment?
  19. I used to use Silvrettas and Koflachs and the lack of control I experienced was astounding. There were OK for level ground touring but any degree of incline or deep snow was dangerous. I thought that I'd forgotten how to ski. Since I went the Dynafit/Scarpa F1 route I can ski anywhere and climbing is not to bad either.
  20. Climb: Mt.Matier east ridge recon.- Date of Climb: 3/25/2006 Trip Report: I took a look up at the east ridge of Mt. Matier last weekend, to do a little recon for a future climb. Posted a few nice shots of the ridge and east side of Matier on my blog http://hydrogenplusstupidity.blogspot.com/ click on the pix to enlarge them. Gear Notes: Ear plugs if you've going to sleep in a hut with 30 others snoring, coughing, farting people.
  21. " Turn those machines back on!"
