    washing rope

I also have washed my rope in the tub. Most places that sell rope also sell a rope cleaning brush. Run the brush over the rope 2-3 times depending on how much dirt comes out... It does take awhile to dry though. Nice job on getting out there, and getting your rope dirty!

    Bishop

Im planning a trip to Bishop this next week and was hoping someone would have information about the best guidebooks for the area. We already have one for Owens River Gorge but we are wanting a few more. Many of the books Ive looked at have mostly sport routes. Is there any trad in the area that is decent? We will be there for 7 days so will have plenty of time to explore... Any other advice about campgrounds, hot springs, even backpacking is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Yeah, Thank you! Although I wasnt able to stay for long it was great to meet some new people. I also echo Ivan - slides earlier would be a big bonus. None the less, Nice job Portland Crew!
  5. I second that. A-Basin and Loveland are your best choices for for price and location... After having lived in Boulder for a few years I can suggest other places to go and even people to go with if you want.
  6. Sorry gang - not this week. Count me in definately for next Wednesday though.
  7. http://www.yogabhoga.com/ This a a great place in Portland for yoga.
  8. Illini were planning on heading out to Smith on Sunday. If Pandora has the glitter covered, I can bring the construction paper...
  9. Wednesday is good so is just about every other night this week.... Depending on Transportation...count me in!
  10. I went to Chamonix this summer, the youth hostel is amazing. It accomodates the "youth" as well as families with kids. They have lockers you can rent as well as shower accomodations. Its a bit out of town so you would have to take a shuttle (7minutes). It might be a great way to meet other climbers too... that way you wouldnt necessarily have to spend the money on a guiding service. The cheaper the better b/c everything else is really expensive. However, if you plan on going soon - make reservations quick!!
  11. Thursdays are definately better for me. I will be there next week on Thursday for sure. Anyone available to give me a ride?
  12. There is a law like this in Washington. On the way back from Squish this summer I was pulled over for driving in the left hand lane. Granted, I just got a warning but he said that unless you are actively passing then you need to stay on the right.
  13. I agree with thelawgoddess. If she cannot find a shoe to fit her then she should buy a boot that comes close to fitting her, get custom insoles, and possibly think about going to a cobbler to further fit her freakish feet into a boot.
  14. I also have a BD pack - 35L. It works great for just about any adventure you want to go on.
  15. http://www.ohsu.edu/news/2004/120704govBudget.html Maybe putting some fire under Kulongoski's ass will help the future of public health in Oregon. Time to move North!

  17. Yesterday I was told that I was experiencing the "screaming barfies" - yeah, I never want that feeling again... I am hoping that some ladies(or gents) might have some information on which gloves/mitts to buy to keep cold hands warm. I have always had poor circulation - however I am now trying to learn how to ice climb. Being unable to grip the tools because my hands will not close is an unfortunate way to start learning. I am hoping that someone might have information on climbing in mitts or knowledge on how to keep the blood circulating to my fingers. Are there any other ladies that have experienced this problem? Please no spray. Thanks...
  18. I think I might know who it belongs to. Check your PM's
