  1. Thanks for the input guys. I'm back in town now and plan to pursue this within the next week or so. I'll also contact the other guys that got screwed by him.
  2. As an update since I have managed to find myself at a computer: I am currently out $300 to "Joey" for a tent that he never sent with no response to further inquiries. Not trying to make a bad name for anyone, but from my point of view, that's the situation. I'd be more than happy to get my money back and put everything behind us. I will pursue the situation further as soon as I can do so. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!
  3. I have some business to complete with him immediately and I can't get in touch with him. If anyone knows him or his whereabouts, I'd appreciate a heads up.
  4. Prefer an eldo and prefer either in yellow, but beggars can't be choosers. Please email me @ munckee@hotmail.com
  5. Thanks for the input. What exactly do you mean by "carry-overs"?
  6. Perfect for you AND someone else, or just you? I had/have my sights set on an eldo, but I've had someone offer me an I-tent that I'm taking into consideration.
  7. So, just how small is an I-tent? How comfy would it be for two mid-sized guys, 5'8 or shorter?
  8. Just feel that the eldo will fit my needs a little better. The ahwahnee is a BEAUTIFUL tent. The construction is impeccable.
  9. I'm really interested in replacing my ahwahnee with an eldorado, but I'm leaving for a trip in two weeks. If anyone is interested in purchasing my ahwahnee quickly (I can ship quickly if you want to paypal me the money) then I might be able to find an eldo quickly. If you have an eldo and want to work some sort of trade, that could work too. The ahwahnee is in perfect shape with the exception of a couple of dirty spots (seriously, thats it). No holes, no rips, no tears, no repaired spots, no nothing except a little dirt on the canopy. It's been used for a total of one summer of almost all car camping (over the course of a month). Comes with the bibler groundcloth. Asking $450 shipped. Please email me with any questions: munckee@hotmail.com
  10. I have a bibler ahwahnee that is constructed beautifully. However, if I had to do it again, I'd probably choose an Eldorado.
  11. You gave me your opinion. I don't intend to base a purchase decision on just your opinion, however good you may consider it. I was asking for other opinions as well.
  12. Thanks for the help buddy. Does it really bother you that much that I want to get info from any availible source before dropping a couple hundred dollars?
  13. I just ordered two WM megalites with 2oz of overfill each. I did a lot of research and I was sold on the Marmot Hydrogen...until I saw the WM bags in person. Their construction is just top notch. My previous bag was a TNF down bag with dryloft. It's definitely not as comfy as other bags I've used. Unless you're in a really rainy area and you're worried about being able to keep your bag dry, I would NOT get a waterproof bag. They don't breathe well and you end up sweating your butt off in them.
  14. I have an Arcteryx Beta AR that I love. Just recently, I looked at replacing it with something lighter. I bought the Sirrus SL from REI outlet. HOWEVER, when I got the Sirrus, I promptly returned it. First off, the fit wasn't perfect. My Beta is a L which fits me generously enough to layer, but still doesn't look "too big". The Sirrus in a L (the only size on sale) was a bit to large. I think a M would have fit better. Second, it weighed in at 14oz, only 6 less than my Beta. That, in conjunction with the fact that my Beta is in perfect shape and wouldn't cost me $175 led me to return the Sirrus immediately. It also didn't look like it would hold up nearly as well as the Beta that I have. Here's what my ideal layering system would be if I had the money for it right now: I'd get a nice softshell jacket and then a light hardshell (probably a sirrus) to wear only when things get really nasty. I'd have less problem carrying a less durable shell when I know that I have a softshell that will handle most everything.
  15. Considering getting a pair of soft shell pants to carry instead of my hard shell pants. What have your experiences been between the two? Any recommendations for or against making the switch? Usually I carry a pair of light long underwear bottoms and my shell pants. Rarely do I need the long underwear and just wear my shells as wind pants. I'm thinking that maybe a pair of softshell pants will bridge the gap between the two and allow me to carry just one pair of pants. Also, I'm considering an order from beyondfleece; anyone used them?
  16. Mountain Hardwear Skyview 2 tent. Excellent condition; used for maybe ten nights. La Sportiva Nepal Top boots, size 44. Used for one, three day ascent on Rainier. The leather is darkened from the waterproofing I applied, but the boots are in perfect condition. They were covered by a pair of supergaiters for the entire ascent. Patagonia R2 pullover, size L, cobalt blue. Perfect condition; worn twice. To make life easier, here are the prices that I believe are fair for these items. If you don't agree, feel free to make me an offer. Prices include shipping. MH Skyview 2. MSRP $415. Asking $215 La Sportiva Nepal Top. MSRP $375. Asking $215 Patagonia R2 Pullover. MSRP $108. Asking $70 munckee@hotmail.com I am leaving for the summer in two weeks, so if you're interested, we need to work something out before then.
  17. My vote is for any slipper that fits right (I wear mocs). I'm a smearer, so anything that allows me to feel more of the rock is important to me. I guess it depends on fit and style.
