Just did Matterhorn a week ago, it is a nice walk up with a fantastic west wall. Interesting because it is mostly 200 million year old limestone. Completely melted out now.

We were in the area (Alaska Basin top of The Wall) the day before when it was a bluebird day. High clouds moved in about 9pm. In the morning it was cloudy and cool. By 10am they had shut the lift at Grand Targee due to lightning. A boy scout troop had left the campground (Teton Canyon) around 6am intending to do the South Teton but changed to Table Mountain due to weather. There was lightning all the way back to Idaho Falls. RIP
