And they had a great selection compared to REI "Makalu" ..but hey, I guess you could hit up TARGET on your way out from REI. And then grab an Italian Soda at Starbucks. I have this bad LaFuma WarmN Light 1Kilo It packs small and has kept me warm in COLD weather. It's not the smallest or lightest, but it can be found cheap, and has a full length zipper.

I'd have to say that the bivy would appear to be well thought out and calculated. And from an armchair aspect, that crevasse would seem to swallow any blocks that might attack. Yeah, I've done it quite a lot. It's really quite simple. Go to your local international airport, buy a ticket, board the plane, have a few complimentary drinks, and once the plane gets to cruising altitude, you've effectively acclimatized to 8,000 meters. Shouldn't take more than an hour or two once you take off! Actually, "At a 39,000 foot cruise altitude, the cabin pressure is equivalent to 6,900 feet or pressure of 11.5 psi (about) 450 feet less than Mexico City. reference here

Depends where you are. Some of the peaks in the sawtooths have more of a challenge finding the registar than finding the route. It's almost of game of "hide the registar" You have to get an alpine start, just to spend the necessary time on the summit hunting for the damn thing. If you dont find it, you have to carve a hole in your arm and write it out in blood on your t-shirt, shove it in your only water bottle. Makes for a thirsty/sunburnt descent, but it will be there next time.
