  1. I also suggest making your own. I recommend a good book called DRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT. It even has plans for several home made dehydrators.
  2. Climb: Mt Daniel-Lynch Glacier Date of Climb: 6/5/2004 Trip Report: We camped Friday night at the Cathedral Pass trailhead, trail no. 1345 and got a 0530 start. The exit to Roslyn is closed so we had to drive to Cle Ellum and cut back down. The trail was concealed by snow most of the way until we got to the part over looking Deep Lake. From there it was wet saturated snow the rest of the way to Peggy’s Pond. There was a lot of recent avi activity. Including some fresh and deep wet slab debris. Snow conditions improved once we traversed around and accessed the Lynch Glacier. The glacier was pretty straight foreword with no recent avi activity and only one visible cravase, and that was only about four inches across. The summit went without a hitch. The rock was stable and good quality. The case for the summit log was there but the log it self was gone. If I would have known I would have placed a new one. Something to consider if anyone is headed that way soon. We glissaded the scramble route. Be sure to check for burgshrunds before sliding. Happy climbing.
  3. Has anyone done it as a day trip recently? I'd be curious to hear about it.

  5. My username came about from letting Yahoo choose one for me. The pic I got from a Japanamation site.
  6. Does anyone know if the the Golden Eagle Pass covers parking out at Frenchman Coulee? If I remember correctly the book that came with the pass said something about parking at fish and wildlife sites Does this include Vantage?
  7. I just bought the Dana Bomb pack. I like the fact that it caries climbing gear and ski gear equally well. The thing about Dana packs is you have to have someone fit you that knows what there doing. I had the best bet from the Mom and Pop shops that specialize in Dana packs.
  8. I saw this guy one time out at xit 38. He had on black jump boots black tactical BDU's and a Virginia Military Institute sweat shirt. Anyway we saw him tie off to one of the rusty old stanchions on the RR bridge back before they put up the new fence. The best part is he then stepped back and had his girl friend rap down first. I guess they don't learn about anchors at VMI.
  9. Was up there last week. It's pretty sparce near the top. We did the South Arete.
  10. Have you asked around Bremerton Vertical World. Always does good to befriend the locals.
  11. 14 May 04 The approach to the South Arête was pretty straight foreword. We approached from the trailhead parking lot not the hairpin turn. The approach trail was still covered by snow so we had to do a little bush whacking. The snow on the approach was hard boiler plate it the morning. But it softened up just enough in the afternoon for a nice glissade back to the tree line.
  12. It took me three separate sittings to wade through all that. It was funny though.
  13. Does anyone have any news on the Scenic Hot Springs? I know they were shut down but all winter long on the way up to Stevens I would see a fresh boot track leading up the old road across from the chain up area.
  14. I've never used the Doval for a biner break, but I'm otherwise satisfied with the performance. I've never had one gum up on me. I have a few racked on quick draws and I've clipped trad gear with them. If I get a chance this week end I'll try a biner break with them and let you know
  15. Seems like anytime I buy any kind of new foot ware from REI they really try to push the super feet. I've read about them but what can you peeps tell me from expierence?
  16. Are Mounties welcome? We're not bad peeps.
  17. I wonder what the cumulative years of experience are?
