  1. i just like the friend more. they weigh and size practically the same. there is nothing wrong with the piece.
  2. I want the big green WC tech friend, and have an almost (but not quite) new BD C4 #6, the big green one. it is a little bigger than the old style camalot 5, but way nicer. ill trade cam for cam, and pay your shipping cost. or if you have a big WC cam to sell, let me know if you can sell it cheap. the tech friend Must be in good condition. my big BD cam has only been on a couple climbs. no falls. placed a couple times. just scratched here and there. let me know anthony 203 228 2783
  3. im carless in seattle. want to climb this weekend? im open to suggestions. long routes, big approaches, car to car pushes, whatever. i just want to squeeze one more sweet view into my cascades vacation, so to speak. leave a message at 203 228 2783 and ill get back to you as quick as i can, or email ant1@electricant.net thanks, anthony
  4. looking for a partner for something alpine this weekend. i have friday, sat, and sunday off. leave a message at 203 228 2783, and ill get back as soon as i can (climbing next couple days. will try to check messages as soon as possible) im safe, fast on moderate terrain, want to fire stuart north ridge or something similar. seeking someone similar, with a car. (a rack would be nice too, im from the east coast and mine is a couple thousand miles away..) cheers, anthony
  5. anyone need a partner for satuday(14th)? my sat plans just fell through (doh!). im looking for something with low commmittment. no huge car to car alpine push unless i can get back to seattle in the evening on saturday, cragging woudl be great. ill lead 5.9, follow harder. caveat: no car, no rack, but i have double ropes and all the other gear with me. ill bus anywhere in seattle to make it easy to pick me up. call me if youre looking to get out saturday, or even if you can just get me a ride to somewhere i can mooch around for partners. 203 228 2783 until midnight, and early saturday morning too. ill post if i found a ride/date. thanks, anthony (safe, competent, first aid trained, friendly.)
  6. friendly east coast climber with no car seeks seattle area climber for weekday adventuring. good mountain skills, safe, fast on moderate terrain. im hoping to bag a peak or two with some technical climbing between the 16-19th. if you have transportation, id be pleased to split gas and swing leads or simulclimb something easier. ill lead to 5.9. i have my gear with me, except for rack. anthony 203 228 2783
  7. im an east coast climber with no car, a bunch of gear, and a lot of bottled energy becuase i coudlnt find a partner the last few days. anyone up for something tomorrow, friday? ill do cragging, a one-day summit push, whatever. im dying to get onto some rock. nutshell profile: solid competent fellow, 23yo, solid on 5.9, though i slow down a lot if i get cold. will follow harder. good mountain skills. pick me up! ill split gas and im a great belayer;) call, its quicker- 203 228 2783 anthony
  8. im free 12/13th. no car, though. im at 74/fremont, or anywhere the bus system gets to. call me if you or anyone else wants to climb. i know its the last minute. ill be up til midnight, or call in the morning. anthony 203 228 2783
  9. looking to fill in my free time aug 12/13, and 16-19 with whatever is on your ticklist. the catch: i have no transport, beyond the public transit in seattle. alpine, volcanoes, backcountry, -- got a route in mind? anthony
  10. there is no question in my mind whatsoever. buy the flexcams. they are great cams. the biggest size gets a hard rap, so i originally bought 1-7. however, a friend had an 8 (the largest) which i used a lot, and i finally bought one of my own. if you put some thought into your placements, walking shouldnt be that big an issue. i have a set of flexcams, and all the robots. i really like the robots, seriously. they are kind of like a really big 3cu with a lot of rock contact. they fit places the flexcam wont. however, they are not as flexible (in the does-everything-well sense) as the flexcams. the forged friends are cute and light, but very limiting, as you have mentioned. the gunks tie-off annoys the heck out of me, too. trango has a solid line. best, anthony
  11. other pertinent info: i dont have a car.. sorry.
  12. I'm thinking about coming to seattle for the first three weeks of august. I have a partner for the weekends, but would love to hook up with someone to fill in the weekdays. I'm interested in almost everything, volcanoes, alpine rock, ice and snow, etc. Bit of background- 23 year old, safe, competent, fast on moderate terrain. solid through 5.9, WI3. glacier and rescue practise, and a few cascades moderate classics last time i was around in 2002. bomber first aid skill. friendly guy. anyone need a partner around then? is there another forum i should check? cheers, anthony
  13. still got those hexes? ill give you 45 for the set, shipped, if they are the new style (5.5mm cord thread) auction@productionrunone.com
  14. if you still have them, i might be interested in one or two of the smiley screws. im on east coast time with a finicky schedule. could i email you instead of call? auction@productionrunone.com thanks, anthony
