  1. nfg, but there is plenty of moisture around if it ever gets cold
  2. It looks like there might be some logging up phair creek this winter as there is 4km of new road punched into the end of the valley. I drove up a few weeks ago, may even be potential for some other routes in the back end, have to see what happens. cheers

  4. I have often wondered if it is better to leave valuables in my rocket box or in the vehicle. Has anyone experienced a theft from their carrier??

    boot funk

throw em in the freezer, I did it with my perpetually potent poly-pro and nuclear stench climbing shoes and it works like nothing else, the worse the smell the longer it takes
  6. George Lowe (for alpine)- Putting up hard ass commiting Alpine Climbs in fine style way back in the day.
  7. I havent climbed them, but the route on the right seems quite nice to have not seen some traffic. The approach would probably be 2-3 hrs from where the logging road passes closest (around 9k). Who knows, maybe a FA is still waiting
  8. Climb: Name those climbs- Date of Climb: 3/21/2004 Trip Report: Seriously I dont know, btw this pic is only a few days old. They are easily viewed from the Duffey Lake Rd and the mountain is a flank of Mt.Brew
  9. I never would have passed up that bomber nut just so I could place my new 00# tcu... ouch!
  10. Last week I triggered a class 3 slide that took my partner and I for a ride. Luckily the fracture was only about five feet above me so I was able to arrest with my ski pole long enough to let it pass by. Even though my partner was in a "safe zone" the slide propagated to where he was and took him for about 70m. He ended up on top once the snow stopped and was relatively unscathed. It was certainly one of the the closer calls.
  11. There are some climbs (mostly sport) out on Hatzic prarie about 15 mins north of the Ferndale prison right on the road, bumper belay style. u should be able to get info from the bike shop in mission as there is a "guidebook" (photocopied hand drawn topos) out there some where. Ilost mine unfortunately.
  12. I am looking for suggestions as to what boards (or just general charecteristics) would be best for some fairly steep spring time couloirs/faces, thanks
  13. strong southerly winds, around 60cm new, check CAA website for southcoast conditions. Loaded North and East aspects as well as a predicted rise in freezing level. Sounds a bit sketch
  14. rained hard yesterday in the wet, mixed snow and rain on the Duffey but sweet turns were had up silvermine
  15. same conditions this year, its a skating rink for about 2.5km as soon as you turn off of the Duffey. Chains (not cables) and a 4X4 highly recommended
  16. Enterprise Creek Rd hasnt been plowed, I dont think there will be any logging up there this winter to keep the road open. If not it may get plowed out for the icefest In Feb??
