  1. VE-25 is tight for 3 people.

It's listed as a 3man tent, and if being cozy is fine, then 3 is ok. but it really is a 2man with space tent.

As for durable, VE-25 is a time tested design.

From what I gather from online info, the exped. is $80more,

same square footage, 1 extra pole.

^^If those are correct, then I'd go with the VE-25 hands down

  2. These pants are small to medium in sizing.

They have a 30" inseam and the waist is about 31" or 32" unstretched. excellent cut lots of room to layer.

Condition: AS NEW. Serious. These are my in-city overpants.

Slap em on to keep wind at bay and over work clothes to-from work. No scuffs/wear or anything like that WHAT-SO-EVER

(used my steeptechpants to ski in/winter camping)

Details: 3ply gore-tex, gusset in crotch, two way zipper fly,

suspenders but NO highback, rear zipped "wallet" pocket, snap at hem and hip,

flaps over side zipper - NO gaiters so uncomplicated on/off with boots.

And one-hand adjustment to tighten the cuff without a buckle: there's a fabric retainer so less bulk/no breakage.

fabric is 5.4oz and 4.4oz micro ripstop gore-tex, model is Torre pants.

attached an actual pic of the pants, and a catalog pic of the matching jacket.

Don't need em, since I just got Arc'teryx theta Sk's

Pants are relatively light, but HEAVY DUTY. still have my torre jacket and it looks like new

questions: just email me gearup5000 at yahoo.com

    $150 delivered?

I need marmot ultimate gloves in medium, or arc'teryx gamma SV's in large, spy goggles would be nice.

    work out a $$$/swap deal

    lemme know

  3. I have had the gamma's for a year, but never used for ice.

THe one thing to know is that they are NOT windproof.

If it's windy, your hands will get cold pretty fast.

I have to locate my thin 2-nd skin liner gloves and try them out and see if that helps.

Outside of the wind issue, they fit great and and have unbelievable dexterity. Think of...leather driving gloves.

Also, the pull tabs on the cuffs are great - when getting the 2nd one on the tab says "bite me" smile.gif

  4. I haven't tried mine out in snowy conditions, but I have in wet ones, and what I do is keep a very light, no frills windbreaker with me. simple nylon hooded pullovers pop up non and then on ebay, however I got lucky and scored an activent one smile.gif

This way, if you have a jacket, you get full protection with a lot of flexibility.

Activent also cuts wind/very water resistant, so if th softshell gets too hot, toss the activent/other over a regular fleece/sweater.
