  1. You're right. There isn't much info to be found on the Valhallas. I happen to be losely involved with the group from Olympic Mountain Rescue revising the climbing guide to the Olympics. A couple of those guys have a lot of the first ascents in the Olympics, including the Valhallas. I'll ask them if they'd be willing to provide their contact information for you if you wish.
  2. That would be the best way to go. It looked the clearest from my perspective on Slab Tower last month. I have 2 friends that gave Cruiser a try from Mildred last year. They spent half the day just trying to find the right notch to get through. The didn't recommend it.
  3. I was in the Sawtooths at the end of August. There is a climber's path along much of the ridge that is easily travelled, prticularly this time of the year as it is dry. Bring water though, as there is none up there. It's a fun place to be, though. I was up there getting info for the Oly climber's guide new edition.
  4. If not been in there, but I considered doing so. I've spoken to a few old timers who have and the South Fork of the Hoh is defintely the way to go. However, prepare yourself for a serious bushwacking saga.
  5. Anyone ever heard of somebody having climbed the Thumb off of Mt. Anderson? It is the rock pinnacle on the ridge that seperates the Anderson glacier from the other glacier on the SE side, called Linsley I think.
