  1. I own a Wanderlustgear 2-4-2 tent. A great 3 season 2lb tent. Decent size for two huge for solo and gear. There has been problems with ordering recently.May be out of business.People on another board have complaints of giving deposits and not getting their tents. Another good lightweight tent option is: http://www.sixmoondesigns.com/ Have heard alot of good things about the manufacturer and his products. The Luner solo looks very tempting. I have seen a few of his models in the Sierras as well as the Tarptents. Both look pretty good.
  2. I have used a Chouinard pyramid(pre-BD mega) and a sil clone of one for about twenty years in snow. They are light and pretty versatile. There are trade offs. I have seen the Hex and there is a review here(it is a pay site for complete review): http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/xdpy/ss/Shelters/index.html Mega photos: http://ftp.backpackinglight.com/galleries/Beartooths04/imagepages/image32.html
  3. There are some photos of new golite alpine packs, down jacket and a Sierra Designs dome sil tent at:http://backpacking.net/forums/ You need to click to: light gear talk/ click to a :few new goodies at OR show.
  4. I have a WM Megalite with 2oz.overfill. I am 5'9" 185# it is a pretty roomy bag. I can put on layers if it's gets pretty cold and still have room. Hermits Hut has some of WM bags with free overfill, free shipping, and a free down pillow: http://www.hermitshut.com/wesmoun.html Good people to deal with.
  5. 6 month now $79 at: http://www.northernmountain.com/pgi-ProductSpec?516951
  6. I am close to 200. My fat butt has been using and abusing Merrells ventilator lows. They seem to be holding up alot better than my NB 805s. Thicker stiffer sole less rock bruising also.
  7. I am not familiar with the Svarsky bivi. Where can I see one?
  8. Any pro or cons to Western mountaineering's megalite bag. I keep debating whether to but one or not.
  9. I was going to get a Arc'teryx Kamsin 62, but it did not fit very well. I tried on a Makalu and it fit pretty well. I can get one for under $300. I am also looking at Osprey's Ceres 70, if i can find one to try on. I am kind of hard to fit. I am looking for a top loader/single sack pack about 4200ci/65L, around 41/2lbs and carry 35-40lbs. I have thought about getting a Serratus through MEC, but I am wondering about returns/cost to Canada because of my fit problems. I have also thought about just spending the $$$ and getting a McHale Super Sarc made. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Anybody have any experience with this pack; positive or negitive?
  11. Has anybody used this pack or any opinions. I am thinking about getting one. I need a pack about 37-4000+ci. around 4lbs. Any suggestions welcome.
