  1. Well, okay if you're still up from the day before, then you don't have to follow the rule, and I guess Scotch doesn't count either, but absolutely no Heroin before noon period, or you could be
  2. you know I can never remember if I have substance abuse issues or not, as I always wake up in a fog. Besides, I almost always follow the no beer before noon rule, and I never "wake and bake" Well, not for like a week or something.
  3. Heading up above the Umpqua for some crack climbing! Spice! Pray for no rain.
  4. AAAHHH!! I'm Fucking stuck inside the office when it's such a nice day!! HELP!! HELP!! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! It is waay past time for and Just want to go climb, not sit here and analyze data like a meat automaton
  5. Ehh? PMS? Where pretell, is that? I will refrain from references to my girlfriend and PMS, too obvious
  6. Check it, I got a new pair of Sportiva Makalus, the big shit kicker motherfuckers, and right after I got them I went on a 2 mile hike. I barely made it, my feet and legs hurt so bad. So like the idiot that I am, like 2 months later, after not wearing the boots for that time, I go on another hike, but this time I do 10 miles. the last 5 miles back my knees hurt so bad, I wanted to cry. So I go home, Ice my knees, and take some ibuprofen. The next day, I'm fine. Was it just my knees getting old? I don't know, because I bike about 13 miles a day at least 3X a week. I also run 2 or 3X a week, and my knees don't hurt doing that. Since those hikes I've worn the shit out of those things, and I mean I wear em everywhere on the weekends. After like 2 months of frequent use, they're just now getting comfortable. Of course my case may not be representative of the rest of the planet, because I have very big and very wide feet. Bad boot fit for me? maybe. Probably. My point is wear the fuck out of those things in town cuz you do not want to wearing new boots in the backcountry, especially if you're going on a hike like that. just my 2 cents. Anybody know good boots for people with very wide, very big feet?
  7. Awesome job, sir. It is really hard to motivate people for the dawn patrol, let alone doing it solo. Excellent post. Congratulations on your ascent. that's what life is about, finding your happiness.
  8. I would recommend checking out www.MEC.CA for good deals on down bags. I just bought this crazy hybrid down/polarguard type bag that's toasty. With the exchange rate, you get a pretty sweet deal, even with shipping, and they are fast. I order stuff on Tuesday, and it shows up on Saturday. Their return policy is awesome. Return it for any reason. I highly recommend them.
  9. One time in one day I saw a crippled lady in a motorized wheelchair giving a guy a ride down the street, and I saw this fucking enormous fat guy vomiting all over and around this bench at a bus stop I mean it was coming out of him like that guy in CKY4 that drank all the peppermint Schnapps. Gnarly.
  10. It depends on how far south you mean, because there is a lot of rock in SW Oregon, and most of it is fun. I have climbed at the Callahans, the Honeycombs, the Youtklut Pillars, Cougar, and the Columns(in Eugene, too many times) and they're all awesome. Most areas are not very big, but they sure are fun. I suggest picking up "Rock Climbing Southwest Oregon" by Greg Orton. Enjoy! Of course there's also a ton of local stuff around Bend, just ask the locals.
  11. Excellent point. I've been wondering how to get these things to stay on those bolt thingies. There's got to be a better way Say, what are those bolt thingies for anyway? I never have anything I want to leave up there, so what's the point?
  12. SLCDs are gonna set you back no matter what kind you go. I have a full rack of BD, augmented by metolius TCUs, some Tricams, and of course, all sorts of passive gear. Go with what feels good to you. I like all my gear, and it is all useful, so I have no preference either way for Spring loaders Just make sure the pro you're using feels good to you while your feet are skating out of the crack, your power's fading, and your last piece is 15 ft away. Fun fun fun!
  13. I attempted to hike Tidbits mountain this weekend in the McKenzie river/Blue River area, and the snow level was around 4500 feet, and there was lots of it. Bulo is further east in the rain shadow, so it might be dry. I was going to try to go there next week. If I go I'll submit a report.
  14. I enjoy almost all aspects of the sport, except aid. It's just really easy sometimes to load the dog in the truck and go for a solo bouldering session when I can't find reliable/stable/trustworthy/sane partners. Hence, the query. Yeah, there's tons o' great rock to climb around Eugene, but I still would like to boulder once in a while w/o having to drive 2&1/2 hrs to Sisters or an hour to Roseburg. Then afterwards: and
  15. Hey there Corvallis type guy. How about the bouldering in your area? That's not too far from Eugene!
  16. Anybody out there know anything about this? Any help would be better than no help Shit any Beta at all about Bouldering near Eugene, if it exists, is helpful.
  17. Fuck me! I'd have to be in the woods a looong time to cut my arm off! Twisted.
  18. Hey! Eugene Climber with no place to put up a poor little woodie of his own looking for some friendlies to share their plastic with me! I'll supply the if you supply the wall! post it here! weeknights are what I'm looking at, and I'd rather not join the Crux again. Hook me up!!
