  1. Our team thus far consists of one 24 yr old female climber and three early twenties male climbers looking to embark on their first Alaskan Mountaineering expedition during the second half of June 2003. Ideally we would like two rope teams of three and a nice mix of men and women. Our objective is Mount Blackburn, a picturesque Alaskan summit of 16, 390 ft. located in the Wrangell Mountains of Alaska. The group will be departing Anchorage on June 16th and driving north (possibly to McCarthy, AK) to meet our bush pilot, who will fly us into the glacier. We expect to fly out sometime in early July (perhaps the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd ??). None of us has climbed an Alaskan peak to date and we've selected our route based on that fact, while seeking a less popular and more remote route than "the west buttress" which will still present the full gamet of Alaskan mountaineering challenges; Routefinding, crevasse negotiation, moderate commitment level-AK grade 3+, etc. We ideally would like to find two more companions of the female persuasion, with comparable experience levels to ours. Each of us has climbed extensively in Washington, and made several trips to the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia, the desert Southwest. We are all in very good physical condition and expect the same from any perspective partners. Please IM me if our trip interests you. Thanks for your interest!
