  5. So, I don't like the racial slur this list provides for me and my fellow countrymen. I mean common, how is it a racial slur calling someone "Bjork"? With this, I suggested my co-workers come up with something good. After a bit of thinking they honored me by coming up with: glacier boy (big and slow). I feel this needs to be added to this list. Thank you and
  6. I've got a pair of used Grivels with interchangable points (don't know the model) for $100. Any takers? PM me.
  7. Wasn't it Gallagher that suggested we write it "burrocrat" in accordance with the way they act?
  8. I got a spyware with a program I downloaded, but it had an entry for it in the Add/Remove Software in the Ctrl Panel so I just removed it through that and it worked fine. Check it.
  9. I guess 70% unemployment isn't enough, we've got to increase it.
  10. On a road trip in eastern OR some years ago I was travelling on Hwy 31 that runs SE of La Pine into what I think was the Deschutes Nat. Forest. As I drove down the hwy I saw several dirt roads go off into the forest on both sides of the hwy. I decided to pick one of them to bivy by. I drive the dirt road I picked about 0.5 mile into the forest and pitch my tent a few feet away from it, since there was some room. This is at about 9pm. I proceed to do some reading, but about a half-hour later I hear some cars go slowly by. I had hoped that I would get this road for myself, but oh well. The cars drive on for about 10 minutes or so, and then are turned off. Not long after that I start hearing the occasional gunshot. This bothered me some, knowing that the cars weren't really that far away. However, it was when they brought out the heavy artillery that I started to really become concerned, especially when I started hearing machine gun fire. I decided that I was not going to waste any more time there and threw my tent into the truck and drove off to La Pine for a motel room.
  11. What's a guy built like Rush doing commenting on sports anyway? Think about it. If he would comment on climbing, would you take him seriously?

  14. So many chimneys, so little time. You guys . I now have more chimneys than I could climb in a year.
  15. Ok, so I went to Index on Saturday and absolutely positively SUCKED at getting up (on tr mind you) the 5.8 flaring chimney by Great Northern Slab. However, since I will inevitably come across more chimneys in my climbs, I need to develop some skills. So my question is this: where should I go to practice? Plus, where can I get suggestions on how to climb them? Thanks in advance, Cheers
  16. Obviously, Mr. Swift had never been to Iceland, where they fish Greenland shark, which is poisonous fresh, then bury it whole in sand for a few weeks and then consume it with alcohol called Black Death. The stench of the shark is undescribable, not even Lutefisk comes close.
  17. I had a similar experience a couple of years ago on a HOT July afternoon down at Smith with an ice ice cold Corona. Then off to the Deschutes Brewery for a Stout & burger. Fukk Yeah.
  18. I just thought this one was solid based on the fact that it was pushed sooo hard by the Reagon admin in which Bush Sr. was vp. The fact that they are willing to take down something solid as this leads me to wonder: Where will it end?
  19. This can't be happening! What's next? What the hell is wrong with these people?
  20. Since I got the pink slip on the 3rd, I figure I'm going try to get more climbing done. Sport lead 10's, trad lead 9's. PM me. cheers
  21. Looking at his more recent achievements here , I'd say he's still bold. Just an opinion though. cheers
  22. Me thinkgs the Bird would dispute that one. Gaston, I've just spent the first hour of my day at work trying to verify (by internet search) the source of the above quote. I couldn't find it anywhere, but I'm pretty sure I read it in a book many years ago, and it was attributed to Paul Petzoldt in that book. By "the Bird" I'm assuming you mean Jim Bridwell. It could very well have been him, given his reputation as THE hard man of his day. Can you verify him as the source? If so, I will stand humbly corrected. I'm sorry sobo, but I was merely saying that Jim Bridwell ( the Bird) would dispute that there are no old bold climbers, and not that he actually said the line. Tah.
