  1. This is the answer. According to Rigging For Rescue of Ouray, CO, the ratio of prusik cord diameter to host rope diameter is 2/3 to 3/4. Mike must have changed the numbers when he bought the company from Kirk. Gotta do something to be different - Typical
  2. Use a rule of thumb for prusik cord: 60% - 80% of the host rope. So for 8mm rope, 5 works great & 6 will work but you may want an extra wrap with the 6mm.
  3. Actually Everett Mountain Rescue was requested to assist in recovery. Nothing further...
  4. WOW - 150 sq ft? If that is a Large home...then my 1800 sq ft house must be a castle!!
  5. Check Email for destination next week.
  6. Geez - Get a room already
  7. Nice TR & Pics. One question though: How long did it take your party to summit? I am planning on an attempt this weekend weather permitting. Thanks Coop

    mchale pack

There are the best packs PERIOD. If you need a pack that big & it fits you, $200 is a steal!
  13. If you are worried that the knot will untie, put it under a load using a 3:1 pulley system to pretension the knot. After that is done...no worries.
  14. Well look how far we have come....
  15. No examples but just common sense...if you are with others that have beacons & can get to you with in ~15 minutes, you have a fighting chance...otherwise they are for recovery. Sometimes you just have to wait for the spring melt...
  16. Hope you never need a rescue...most "stupid" rescue teams use the bowline equally if not more than the fig 8 thta prolly has to do with the high loads there prolly eh cheif? not the brightest crayon in teh box now are we? Did the spelling bee champ say something? Not sure what you wrote as it was mostly jibberish.

  18. Yea I'm sure if you had the opportunity to make an easy grand you would have done the same.
  19. Was out there Friday evening for a bit and stayed dry. Good thing I had to work OT the next day
  20. sounds like a possible fracture of the patella. better get to the doc!!! And quit walking downstairs. until it heals...
  21. Sounds like Mountain Gear.com has some more competition for the state of WA...
  22. I injured both ring fingers in each hand from training. Pulled the muscle & tendon that attaches up near the elbow. I had pain for nearly 9 months on one finger and close to 6 for the other. I never went to the MD as i knew what I needed to do. As long as you still have normal (aside from pain) range of motion, there is not a lot you can do other than very easy climbing and light stretching. PT might help your recovery but I chose to just take it easy and not climb for awhile or if I did it was low 5th with juggy holds...
