  1. I'm supremely jealous that you'll be done so early. My last leg isn't even until 11:30 am! And I'm runner 7.
  2. Well so much for anonymity on this site boyz! Do you think he wants you all knowing he's my bitch?! [apologies to said b/f, I've been mainlining gu today and I'm a little wired getting ready for the big weekend xo ]
  3. "Erin Bruce, star reporter for KEZI, run over by jealous girlfriend, film at 11!"
  4. Well, damn, my team's not supposed to be in till about 5, y'all will be drooling in the sand by then!! But I'll be keeping an eye out for the cc.com'ers that I could recognize on sight. The rest of you, just say something perverted or stupid and I'll probably be able to figure out your avatar right away My team number is 204 and we've got a REALLY stoopid name.. Coast or Toast. I didn't come up with it. Thrashador will be in tow as well, the hole where I've put the ring in his nose is starting to heal up nicely.
  5. Back to the important question - c'mon TG, don't be makin' us PDX'rs look like a bunch of weak livered, alcohol challenged wussies. You gotta bring some tripple bock, that shit got me a boyfriend! I'd hate for you to deny anyone the opportunity for a key hookup...
  6. Uhh, that would be "Pabst" Smear....
  7. Grazie! You bodaciously, mein liebchen!
  8. I would agree that large scale farmers/the agro industrial complex in the US are the largest pigs at the federal subsidy welfare trough, but somehow this seems like a small price to pay compared to the irreparable damage that would be done to ANWR if we start going in there and digging holes. And you know it's only a matter of time before our unquenchable thirst for petroleum gives the Bushies a good excuse to start opening up the National Parks to exploration, it's already being talked about. I'd rather listen to some fat farmer complain how he's not getting enough support from the guv'ment than hiking past oil derricks in the Tetons.
  9. Don't forget that if you shoot somebody in your yard, you have to drag the body back into the house so's you don't go to jail...
  10. I posted that little goody so you wouldn't have to
  11. Well, there sher as hell weren't no skeeters up there this weekend! Left for Moraine Lake Sat. about 5 in the rain which turned to sleet which turned to big, heavy wet snowflakes by the time we got to the lake. Made camp outta the wind and underneath the cover of some trees. Wind blew and it sleeted/snowed seemed like all night. So much for the "summer solstice"! Woke up Sunday to sunshine and two inches of fresh snow. Made for good skinning most of the way up except for the "informal" Mazama group that kept crisscossing my skin track and making me wait for them to get out of my way. Overheard from a woman in the group: "those spiny things sure would come in handy right now..." Priceless. Skiing was good from the top, but got slushy and grabby pretty quick.
  12. Greetings gentlemen - thanks for the compliments (I think) and lovely to be able to lurk amongst you, hope to do it agin' real soon!

    Chilkoot Trail

I did the trail last July and the rangers always tell people that it's going to take longer than expected because this trail is gaper central. Don't get me wrong, there are difficult spots, the Golden Stairs is more a pain in the ass than actually really difficult. With a full pack on your back it just takes awhile to climb over refrigerator size boulders on a fairly steep pitch, but it's not that long of a stretch. I did it in five days cause I was with older people who hadn't hiked in 20 years, but easily could've done it in four and I didn't go beyond Bennett - took the train back to Skagway. Take every piece of rain gear you've got, you will be wet, you will sleep in a puddle at least one night and your stuff will never dry, it's SE Alaska. There's no time to go when you can garuntee good weather. It is fun, though and more scenic on the BC side.
