  10. Take two-pounds turtle meat, cut in small pieces, braise in two ounces of butter with a little onion. Add one-half pint of cream and two hard-cooked eggs cut rather fine. Thicken with a little flour mixed first with cold milk. Salt and paprika to taste, a glass of Madeira, if desired, and serve from chafing-dish on squares of toast with sliced lemon. Mmmm...tastes like chicken.

  12. What we kids called "bouldering" growing up in the deserts of eastern WA was bit different than the reference today. It too was an activity, which consisted of rolling the largest boulder we could find onto the roadway, and concealing it beneath a giant tumbleweed. Then, hiding nearby, we would watch as the unsuspecting motorist was launched into orbit. Many oilpans were sheared, but thankfully no one was ever injured or killed. We were rotten little bastards indeed, but I still get a chuckle when I think of the bewildered drivers trying to chase us down when they heard our cries of joy and laughter upon a successfully completed mission. Old skool Jackass I guess.
  13. I have a pair of Vasque k2 clones. I've never had a blister(except for the time I wore cotton dress socks!) - and since I added footbeds, I've never had any pain in my feet. Maybe it's me - but I just don't have problems with my feet hurting from boots (including some 20+ mile days in them). YMMV I've got a pair of Vasque H2's too. I can do 15-20 mi a day with no problem. Those boots is the bomb. Mine are EE for extra width, so when the dogs swell up there's plenty of room left. I wear a thin nylon sock under thin smartwools. Never a foot problem. Worth every penny they were.
  14. Bastards deleted my post. Bust out the nukes.
  15. Every single folklife fest, our underground garage gets hit hard. Two decks later, I pack the faceplate religiously. Goddamn dead-head hippie faggots.
  16. Thank the babyjesus for alla yous who support Mom an' Pop. Meantime-I'll be shoppin' at Wal-Mart with 'em.
  17. "Three reported severe coughing." Ganja and spindrift don't mix. I think I'm getting the picture here.
  18. Or you could spend two hours on I-90 and have alot more fun at Frenchmans Coulee near Vantage.
  19. I'll reserve judgement until I get the whole story, but I would really like to hear the rationale for going up with a forecast like that. Other than training for a winter route in the Himal or sum shizzle, I can't think of many others.
