  1. i would love to see ripping it up on the x-country stuff, more power to them. what are you afraid of? whenever i have checked out those parks there is all kinds of stupid crap going on, some even stupieder crap would fit right it. Not to mention the wipeouts must be hilarious
  2. Stone Gardens www.stonegardens.com Saturday 11/19 10:30am - 6pm Seattle Bouldering Challenge is the biggest bouldering comp in the northwest. prizes for 1-3 in every category and a dyno comp. maybe some of you spraylords would dare to come out and show your stuff. also it is free to watch so come down and check it out.
  3. There are a lot of companies that design and build climbing walls, indoor and outdoor. It is big business these days. I am sure they could tell you this kind of information (about concrete/outdoor walls, not the UW rock specifically) but they would also want to charge you a lot of money. You might try contacting them to see if they would be interested in donating some info.Entre Prises and Eldorado Walls to mention a few. You could also try the access fund, maybe they know somebody who could help you out. Also try similar organizations in europe.
  4. it was pretty fun! did my first mixed climb ever, but gym climbing is gym climbing. Climbing foam is pretty wierd. Roger put on a good slide show, a mini version of the one coming up this week a Feathered Friends, 11/8/05
  5. amazing, thanks for the story. I'd be happy if i could make 5.10 feel like 5.7
  6. I guess if leading a route were you hang a bunch provides the same sense of accomplishment as when you lead one where you fight through the hard parts and make is up on your own then you should just ignore "the rules" i know for me those are not the same thing.
  7. Climb: Tieton 10/29-30- Date of Climb: 10/29/2005 Trip Report: 2 days over in the tieton, weather was good, but on the cool side. Oasis - the guide says it is a newer area, that must be a euphemism for not entirely cleaned. the climbs are fun and it gets sun. Bend - no sun this time of year but the climbs are great. did some fun cracks and then finished up on a couple bolted bear hug routes. Gear Notes: more wood & a bigger fire
  8. i use tape most of the time, my hands are pretty boney and it is pretty painful without. aid is fun
  9. that does seem pricey compared to aliens & tcus, even the new #3 is a buck cheaper.
  10. i remember being up there and looking at the crater walls, thinking it would make a great descent. then i looked at the crater mound and thought i didn't want to get too close to that thing
  11. nice TR, the footage is great. this makes all those written TRs pretty dull by comparison
  12. i would reccommend going with a fairly wide ski, 80+ mm underfoot. these are a little pricier, and the skins are more, but the skiing will be better and easier. also AT boots are a must for any actual skiing. a cheapo setup would be ok, but you get what you pay for
  13. Seattle Bouldering Challenge Stone Gardens Nov 19th www.stonegardens.com
  14. where is this sex and climbing post? must be good to get everyone all fired up.
  15. i think i only skipped 4 or 5 bolts on that pitch, i guess i am a wuss. that climb was pretty fun, very mellow. the 5.7 pitches felt harder than the 5.9 ones. for the nc mountain guides for leaving out a stack of topos
  16. check out this page http://www.sammamishclub.com/club/scripts/section/section.asp?grp=0&NS=MEMP they have a special category for live-in nannies
  17. anyone up for index on wednesday? i can get out of work by noon. before the rain comes? PM if interested.
  18. nice job, the place looks cool. i like the boulder hanging from the ceiling, that is a cool idea.
  19. the latest MSP movie, the hit list, @ the moore 9/24 8pm http://www.mspfilms.com/wwwx/tourdates.php
  20. Good times all around. the minuteman was really cool, the roof move was cool, more scary than hard. barber pole was a fun route, after looking at the guide a few more times i can sort of match up the route with what we did. i think the route is supposed to go on a lower smaller ramp, not the bigger one above that we went up. but were that other ramp is i don't know. i started to get a little worried when the snow began but AK did some good routefinding to keep us on track. goat wall was cool, seemed really easy. it's nice of the guide shop to keep topos out for everybody, thanks.
  21. That sounds like training for driving to colorado with a bunch of kids and skiing at vail for the winter. gaper training 101. you forgot to bust out the jeans and gators to make sure they still fit.
