  1. Yes it is! Fekking awesome pre 80's footage of Canyonlands and Zion! Including a "historic" ascent of the Totem pole and laden with awesome 70's nostalgia. Your missing the point blake...have you ever done the "cave route" in Zion? I think not. This film captures the essense of 70's climbing. PERIOD. I think you would probably be bored, but for another reference to this period, check out Paul Padulas "El Capitan"
  2. Is that Kjelle Swedin climbing? I think I recognise the Asolo Canyons? and the cutoffs.
  3. There was talk of a VW gym in the area before I left for Vegas 7 years ago. I wish they would but it still seems sketchy. Ill check out their web site and pop em an email! Thanks for the post!!
  4. Are there any gyms or GOOD public walls besides Spire and YMCA in Tacoma...or near Tacoma, aside from driving to Seattle of Bremerton? Any beta would be really appreciated!
  5. No changes, I made the mistake of buying a pair of Chouinard Canyons but I took em back to the guy at Swallows Nest and traded em for a pair of them Feerays. Thats was the best decision I ever made...next to buying all those stoppers..I do NOT regret lacing up the Great Northern...much safer with 15 pieces below ya. I recon I was lucky, I dont look at my first year of climbing errors as mistakes, but merely "opportunities".
  6. To_The_Top, that pic is in .bmp ( bitmap format) you need to re edit it into a .jpg to make it viewable on the web.

  11. cool ,so due to the rigid nature of the boot, a minor amount of movement is expected, i was kinda wondering if that was it because otherwise the fit nice and comfy. ty for the reply
  12. These are rigid sole Mountain boots so I expect there will be some slippage due to the foot/ankle's natural tendencies to move, correct? Im just looking for clarification on how much is ok
  13. Hey kids, this might be in the wrong forum ( move it if need be pls). But I had a question regarding mountaineering/ice boots. I have been out of the snow zone for sometime and moving back to the NW, I am again psyched at the opportunities. I yanked my old blue Koflachs out of storage and found them to be well... too small. (Back in the day I had "rock shoe mentality" and sized everyshoe I bought "small") So anyway, I plan on getting back and doing some basic alpine/glacier/ice and after doing a bit O research and stopping by a local shop ( Marmot) I picked up a pair of Scarpa Freney XT. My question is one of detailing on the fitting. They are really comfy, I sized em at my street shoe size, roomy toebox so my toes wiggle freely, but there is a small amount (its hard to measure but mebbe 1/4-1/2 inches) of heel slippage. Is this an issue or will it work its way out as the boots are worn via shaping, sweat, swelling. How freakish should I be about the fit and is it cool to tweak the fit with liners and sock combos. Any beta would be cool, I am gonna be wearing them around the house for a bit to make sure im content. Thanks in advance!
  14. Pfft, they are awesome...period and its cool your wife likes and and feels comfortable with placing them, thats a skill bonus for her! As far as availability goes, they still are considered kind of "out there" in the pro realm even tho they have been around for so long. Given also that this region is primarily a hard stone/vertical crack region, most folks are content with the walmart pro. Go to Desert Rock Sports in Vegas or Outdoor outlet in St George and you automatically increase your finding em odds. Killer for SS

  16. 1: Running trails at Point Defiance 20 miles a week. 2: Playing Everquest 35 hours a week 3: 49 hours of sleep a week to help the body recover and heal.
  17. I rapped down to a stuck cam at castle rock in 1986. Peter Croft was working on it...he finally gave up. I tried and got it out...only difference was he was unroped and I was yarding on it on rappel.
  18. Summer of 1987 I worked as a seasonal Interpreter/naturalist for the NPS at Devils Tower National Monument. The area around the Tower extending east to the Black Hills is absolutely beautiful. The climbing is superb as well and I would head back there in a heartbeat. I have a fond memory of having Pope fly out and spending several crisp fall days climbing and hanging out. Fekking awesome place!
  19. WoW, thanks for the heads up E-Rock, yeah I really like Elliot Smiths work . cest la vie

    Who Is Fooling Who?

Actually a Paladin does NOT need Dex as much as he/she would benefit from More STR or STA, with a boost to WIS for mana pool. But I would much rather play an SK for the simple fact that they get pets and can FD.
