  1. I have these skis, and the rule anyhting soft. RULE! It is as big of a step forward as the first fat ski or parabolic. They carve, slip, do both in the same turn, slip into a carve or carve into a slip, whatever you want...just not on hardpack. Absolutly make my bigStix 106's seem crappy. When you sideslip on these things, you don't push the snow...it dosent scrape it clean, you float over the snow. You don't slow down when you turn, you almost accelerate.
  2. wow has he done anything good? he is the devil.
  3. Get some!!! My friend Bora going for glory at Hoodoo on Monday...
  4. if someone has a sled you can get closer from the northeast on USFS roads, and the lines are way better. I have attached this pic before but could not find it...
  5. You can get to a lot of it by sled almost to the top. Check out Keiger Gorge a huge glacier valley on the north? side...there was a cool OPB Oregon Field Guide on it a little back.
  6. Santiam Pass is good for a lot of real short yo-yo's. Potato Hill to the road, E-SE side Hayrick Butte if you want a lot of little 3-4 turn chutes to a open face... I like the area cause it has stuff to kinda scare and entertain you, but without the consequence of size, and no approach what so ever. Black Butte has enuf snow to ski right now... Will. pAss area check out the west face of Judd Mtn. 3500'of gnarly vert just ouside of Oakridge. Timmay mentions the Husband, what about Sphinx Butte? It looks sweet also. If yo have a sled, Paulina. Toombstone Pass has some possibilities.
  7. In that area, Judd Mtn. is deffentally next on my list....I would like to check out Fugi sometime as well. so the saga goes on....snowing steady with about a inch new at my house just SW of Eugene.
  8. I was actually thinkng about monday/tues when it is suposed to be mostly over and it will settle to the point where I can maybe stay on top and save my faties that are needed to ski the shit snot snow that will be up there....pics are mandatory... ...what pass are you going up to try to find a gap??? some very nice gap prospects off Hogg Rock on Santiam... On Will. Ass I am thinking around the tunnel....
  9. I have a Life-Link HMX, but with a d-grip, not the t-grip like Iain posted. The handel extends on it to about 5'. I also have a Life-Link Denali, it is huge, thick aluminium, dosent extend, but no shovel --except for maybe a grain shovel-- can move as much snow as easy. It is way too big to ski with. The worst snow to shovel is the 3-4 day rock hard re-frozen shit that the plows chuck in front of your car during a nice storm/thaw/re-freeze cycle. Always fun to come back to.
  10. $4k for having to get rescued after going OB, plus a undisclosed amount for using someone else's pass....did I hear this right? What a jackass..and come on at least hide the pass..tell the trollers you lost it or something...now your getting someone else busted too. Where was he??
  11. I don't recall it ever snowing in eugene last year, but i've done the same thing on grass and dirt... It didnt snow in Eugene last year, but it did in the hills..I said 4" cause it was about 8" on top and 1/2" in the lower trees--in lot there was 4. Where did you go down? We went down the south side grass bowl things over the little drops to the big mud bowl just above the trail. Talk about a over ran little hunk of mud and rock. People go up there during rains when it is soft, with ski poles, and run directly down the fall line, jumping off ferns and shit like they were skiing moguls. Ripping the shit out of it.
  12. They always choke in the end? I guess it is just that Bachelor is just too gnarl. Honestly I am just bored of Bachelor, bored of will ass. where else is there without moving?? Skiing is not my life, organic ranching is. It is hard to sell out and start up again expecially when you are a trustifarian living on your familys land. The weather also sucks at Bachelor..windy lo-vis during the storms, cant see untill you are in the way too tight trees, by that time it is basically flat....then on the clear days the Summit is hardly anything but masive wind blown shit--then there is the drive from town..that sucks ass (you see I bought a cabin at hoodoo for less than my car).
  13. agreed. 100% I get this shit all the time, I am at satiam pass is because #1 the spring time yo-yoing on short gnarl right off the road- I am no climber..I am a lazy skier #2 it is close to Eugene, and the alternitive Will Ass sucks even worse. #3 most off, I skied bachelor 50-60 days a year as a kid from 86-94, it was flat then on skinny skis..when I go back I laugh..in a few words I am sick of the flat boring POS. #4 because Hoodoo sucks, is totally over piced and mismanaged, no one is there and in the end you get more freshies Yo! DR. Flash..was that directed at me? I don't see how talking to people has anything to do with how new to the game I am?? I am comfused.
  14. I dunno...that is debatible. I talked to a couple folks who were at Flachey and stoped in on their way back to Salem..they had a different view... Apples and oranges.
  15. Very nice Cleatus..what to follow Lava Butte? Last year I skied (if you could call it that)from the top of Spencers Butte (in Eugene) to the parking lot. Not recomended on 4". I should have taken photos!
  16. Dude I was there too. SOOO sick. What were you wearing? I'll look for you up there-- I got solid orange top, solid blue pants-- BigStix 106's, usually my Life-Link bong-pack on (i know people who ski lifts with a pack on are so suck...well it is a long walk to my cabin and I don't wanna do it just for lunch and a toke...and, well, I am so suck) It was dumping so hard that when we got to my cabin at 1-2am, the access road was up to the bumper of my friends Jeep, 18" had fallen since I cleared the deck off friday night. So I cleared it off, by the time we woke up a 8 another 14" was on the deck. I saw on the weather station that it snowed 5" in two hours from 11-1. The bushes on the backside are just getting covered, getting real close to being game.
  17. I have never been skiing there, but what about interrior B.C, like Revelstoke. I hear they give up the goods.
  18. --you'll take it if they actually have snow, Colorado seems to be very prone to drought years lately-- and intermoutian snowpacks suck.
  19. Whoo Hoo!! get some! skinned around Santiam on wed. ahh the snow was schweet before it manked up thurs night. When is all this warm rain sickness gonna stop??
  20. ahhh... before all the fast lifts. Back when Outback was a double.
  21. ^^^^Bwa Haaa, that is funny...and so sad indeed, you echo what I keep telling my friends who still ride there^^^^ resort skiing here is a joke. but skiing in general is fun. But who am I too talk any shit... I mess around these woods (attached)...I have not skied 3 fingered jack yet...but look at all the possibilities. edit--the ski hill, Hoodoo, is in the top left....its raddness is fully apparent.
  22. Talking about Will. Ass, you gotta mention the White Russians, witch are the trees between RTS and Success, or skin up the west peak. My fave part of SDN is straight off the backside lift. Also gotta love Gravity Chute straight off the top of Dragons Back cool pic of the backside attached...
  23. Yea, schralp is crazy! I like this line he skied on Broken Top (attached)
