Yes the area is quite beauty but when one cannot obtaina permit he must make a day of it. If I may chestbeat here, I have also climbed the west ridge and returned to my truck in about 8 hours. I was not 'going for time' either.

I was in no way advocating that the events and details of the tragedy be dropped and forgotten, if you re-read my post you will notice that I support the pieces being put together, I stated it was important. What I was suggesting was that everyone take a breather and step back from the incident itself (while the proper people analyze it) and focus their energy and feelings on Goran himself and what he stood/stands for for many many people. We can all come back later and hear the results of the analysis and determine what we can learn from it, I stated that this is important. Erden, I truly respect the efforts you have made since the tragedy, you have been commended many times already but your ongoing attention and efforts are admirable. I hope this clarifies the statement I previously posted.

I had the stuff cover'd up. I think the local Riff-Raff have also discovered the limestone crags in chilliwack and are hovering around to scoop on any potential gear. Some fishermen on the river had their cars busted into too though.

Gaper Alert!! Have you no shame, no respect. Goran would want people to be celebrating his life and their own lives at this moment. He would want everyone to reflect on what is possible in life and to reflect on what he has taught others. He would want to be remembered as a unique individual with a passion for living and experiencing all of his dreams. Some of you have expressed these feelings, I see that. But Goran would NOT want you to be hovering like ghouls over the details of his death. Let the proper authorities work out the scenario and it's tragic details. Until then, step back and give the guy the REAL attention he deserves. The investigation is important for various reasons, I understand this, but this is TOO much already.

You guys may be tired of Tryones efforts, but I have had a similar incident happen to my truck in chilliwack. Frigg'n bastards smashed and grabbed some of my equipment, including my drill and bit case. Fuckers were in the parking area when I headed up to work on some limestone routes there. If I see them again, NO MERCY. I am out the bucks and the time to get my routes set before some other hacker moves in.

i think anyone can get the mental picture of what happened, why dwell on the matter. ya, perhaps to get some information about slipshod equipment or something, let it go, a person died and you are blindly pointing fingers and undoubtedly making some people upset or anxious, and hey australopithocus, what is to speculate about the outcome?!

hey Heinrich, notice how none of these yappers picked up on you heading back to topic. just more coffee shop shit chat. you read the heading for the post and inevitably have to sift through all the spray and chat to distill the essence of the topic. i realize i strayed/sprayed from the topic too, but i have a point.

ever thinkabout just getting outside for a bike ride or a brisk walk or run. so many climbers are looking for the 'solutions' to their problems of being out of shape, a little more effort and not so much worrying and discussing it.
