  1. quote: are you saying that, I AM NOT COOL phooey, what do you know any way Wow you put me in a real bind. Really I don't know who's cool. Who's to say. I was just saying I know what is cool is the PNW Mountain experiences'. Really though what does the magic eight ball say. Doh! Try again later.
  2. quote: then MOVE complicated ,sure but you could move to the PNW and be realy cool Or at least within three hours of so many COOL climbs.
  3. For example N Ridge Stuart. You climb up the route over the top carring you pack/gear. And down the other side. Generally whenever you are not going to rap the same route or at least the same side of the mt.
  4. GoLite climbers pack lined with a cheap foam pad for stability and comfort.
  5. Beer festival at the Seattle Center this weekend.
  6. The mountains are calling for you to move. This is obvious.
  7. quote: The U.S. Forest Service, now battling one of the worst fire seasons in history, "misplaced" about $215 million intended for wildfire management because of an accounting error, a watchdog group contends. Maybe the IRS can help them find the error.
  8. quote: Alien, are you teaching Beavis and Butthead forestry 101?! Gimme a break.. Give you a break what. Explain. This says nothing CSD.
  9. NICROS holds all the way
  10. Sure doesn't take much to get Orgonians excited.
  11. Also a big reason 80% of the timber is coming from private land is because of the land that is allowed to be logged, 72% of that is privatley owned. Again, Weyerhaeuser, is good they have a recycle company and work hard to develop land. Also private companies have to follow rules and regulations. Yet nobody can hold the government responsible. They can blame us. Use our money to fix problems.
  12. However these private land owners still take better care of their land after it is cut. Weyerhauser is a good example of this. They know they need to do this to preserve their investments.
  13. Sure, I'll mow the lawn.
  14. So after this CFR, how long till the next and the next and on and on. That's how it goes. Government does this all the time. Oh this law is not working lets amend it. Not enough money for education, social security, medicare, medicade, we need more. How about rethinking all of it. I should be able to give whoever whatever I want. That is freedom.
  15. MTNGOAT There is a big difference between public vs private trees. Most environmental pollution to date has occurred because governments have allowed industries to pollute government property rivers, streams, lakes, roads, and lands. Most clear-cutting and strip-mining occur on government property because the offenders have no stake in the future value of the land. Pollution seldom occurs on private property, because property owners are concerned about the future value of their property.
  16. That there's mountain medicine.
  17. Was on the DC the the morning of the 11th. At some spots you couldn't even jump off the trail/trench. That morning there was a fork just at the top of the cleaver. We went left up, and right down. Either way you had to walk a bridge. Guides were going right. Ask the Ranger maybe. Someone fell through going left later on that morning, but I think it was a people error. Buddy and his crew had on flannels and sweat pants, no joke! Don't forget your shovel so you can sleep horizontal.
  18. Once I got my helmet I alwys felt it was rediculous to leave it at home. I'd feel like such a fool if I ever banged my skull without it.
  19. When will people take responsibility for their own actions. If you go to the mountains and get a rock kicked down on your head, not pushed. Your fault. Blame yourself and smile. Gives me a hopeless felling that people feel a need to lie blame on everything.
  20. Climbing at Vantage we got in to a conversation with a belayer on the route next to us. When we hear: "Dude could you throw me up some draws." WTF! We all look up, climber is on the third bolt with nothing to clip in with. His partner then convinces him to take a fall. Twenty foot ripper. Good Times!
  21. O'Boy O'Berto. Summer sausage is nasty.
  22. Poor dogs. Trapped in these concrete jungles. The sad freedom of running around Greenlake a couple times a week for the rest of their lives. Of course its the owners fault. I'll will put up with your dogs at the Crag. But for the dogs sake. Not for the dumb ass owners who want to bring their dogs so it won't shit in their garage or so they don't have to take them on some sorry ass short walk on a chain when they get home, while their out having fun. Have a dog where it can run unleashed, balls and all blowing in the wind. Shit left where it's shat. Dog owners scare
