  1. You could really benifit from a good massage. Go to someone who knows what they are doing. Sounds like you have set your muscles into a bit of a spasm, a good LMP can help reset the propioceptors to get these hip flexors to relax. The tennis ball thing can feel good but it is no substitute for a good neuromuscular therapist. Also look into active isolated streching. This is just streching that involves contracting opposing muscle groups. The principle behind this is that mm groups are set up in opposing sets. For one set to fire the other (opposite) one has to relax. Again a good LMP can show these to you. Good luck, Tyree
  2. Hell Yes! That looks very nice. Good work guys. Darin, its good to see your still gettin the goods.
  3. Since the Zodiacwas cleaned up my guess is that it is alot harder now. The golden arch will prepare you for the worst.
  4. After all of this shit talking by John we should see a TR by Mon.or he is a little bitch :grlaf:
  5. Holy shit that was some of the funniest shit Ive seen i on this website. i love the title "2006 Hangboarding Highlights" with the heli footage, that dude going off the jump getting like 6in of air and almost breaking his neck. holy shit that is FUNNY. and it goes on forever, i couldnt watch it all b/c it was too funny, I had to stop. what it really needs is some thrasher meatal playing in the background, funny ass shit! thanx dude!
  6. Who has skied sick moguls at Mt Baker? Not me, is this b/c of the ridiculous amounts of snow, or is it the majority of riders here being snow boarders or skiers with super fat skis making big GS powder turns. Personally i dont give a shit about moguls. Give me 18" of fresh any day. As far as the resorts who dont allow snowboarders- they are for butt wiggling homos who cant ski powder any how, let them have their "perfect" moguls just as long as they stay out of the powder up here! I am a skier and most of my friends are snowboarders. There is really no difference in riding styles for skiers and snowboarders anymore. I think that skiers should be grateful for what the snowboarding industry has done for skiing. For some of you complaining about snowboarders maybe you havent rode with many good riders but I would suggest getting over the whole skiing vs snowboarding beef and get with the times. Skiing is changing for the better and yes maybe moguls have gone the way of the dodo but in its place are high speed powder turns. Its as close to flying as you can get except for huge whippers but thats what cliffs are for. So have fun up there, if its inbounds on moguls or hitting up the powder in the mountains but leave the snowboarders out of it.
  7. Well not having climbed the Nose I could not compare the two but from what I can tell is the Salathe has some amazing natural bivi's. In this regard it seems pretty amazing that a line like this exists up something so steep and huge as El Cap.I also really enjoyed all of the free climbing above the free blast b/c it was not polished like the FB. From what I've been told there is way more mandatory free on the Salathe whereas the Nose can be aided in many places if a person was lacking the cojones or energy to free climb. There is not nearly as much traffic up the Salathe compared to the Nose either, this is why we chose this as our first grade 6. I think the Nose is a much more aesthetic line climbing a prominent feature. I am heading down there this late spring to give it a go so I guess I can qualify this argument then.
  8. how much of a side cut do you have? I have some suggar daddys and they go straight. 124mm shovel 99mm underfoot and 115mm tail. those things go straight fo sho. not much shape to them. what are you riding on?
  9. It is not only snowboarders who are destroying the bumps, with fat skis the average skiers turn radius is growing too. Moguls can be fun but I think that we all would like to carve huge powder turns than butt wiggle down the slopes creating nice moguls.
  10. oh yea i would have to agree; way better than kite flying blind or heavens gate, or even davis holland and loving arms, but I guess you would have to have climbed these to know the diffrence
  11. How about this then- they BOTH suk
  12. Four buckles, in good shape $150. Send me a PM if interested.
  13. I second that suggestion of fatter skis. The Shuksans are OK but I think that you would be happier w/some fatter skis, just because there is usually alot of deep pow in the cascades especially in the BC. Fatter skis hhave more surface area so skinning is easier riding deep powder is also easier. Unless you plan on sticking to spring tours and corn get some big fat fattys, youll be glad you did!
  14. Now thats a great idea, a little hot sausage action on the UE. Its a great g-friend/wifey route other than that I thought it was a waste of time and bolts. At least with squamish butt there is a real 5.10 pich at the end. My vote is
  15. Yeah- I also said the "sous le toit bivi" when it was actually the Block- oops my bad. Its been a few months since the climb. Im sure there are many other fuck ups in there but thanks for pointing that one out
  16. Thanks, I used mirosoft digital image suite. Sorry you didn't like the music but I had alot of fun making it. As far as a narrative TR goes I thought that would be too much work. Plus the pics tell most of the story. Except for the time we were pissed on from a great height by the Frenchies two days above us and dry heaving ensued Then there was the time I was cleaning the roof when my jumar popped off and just as I almost instantly popped it back on a piece blew out from underneath the roof sending me screaming into space spinning out of control 3,000 ft off the deck. I almost shit myself. All in all we took our time and had alot of fun on this route. The rumors of it being the "best rock climb in the world" arent far off in my opinion.
  17. We had a valley giant that DC graciously lent us as luck would have it. There is so much wide stuff on that route. I will have to say that the >5.10 piches were the hardest/scariest parts of the whole route. This was our fist grade 6. Even though it was a "moderate" grade 6 I have respect for ANY ascent of the big stone. It is quite an undertaking. There were a lot of lessons learned up there and I cant wait for another chance to work them out! Giver' down there this June!
  18. DOOD- BBB looks like a kick in the pants! I dont really ice climb (cept for shit in the mtns.) but looking at those picks of that route make me want to sell my skis and get some tools of my own. (Well mabey not sell my skis, that was more for dramatic effect.) Nice TR! Thanx for sharing.
  19. Trip: Yosemite Valley - Salathe Wall Date: 6/16/2007 Trip Report: Hey there- here is a little something to keep up the rock stoak during these grey days. This is of FrostyTheTradman's and Tyree's adventures up the Salathe wall. Its pretty cheesey- but thats what I like about it, mabey you will too! Cheers! Gear Notes: too much shizzle, less next time up. Approach Notes: chill
  20. Hey- not to beat a dead horse- but I wanted to clear up some misinformation. Greg Childs did NOT bolt Black Cat Bone. DC doesnt know who did or he is protecting the ID of the person so they wont be heckled, harassed, flamed, beaten or molested by any CC.comers. Sorry for spreading filthy lies!
  21. But you are! I was actually calling out for an answer, or confirmation of the matterat hand.
