    n. oregon cascades zone forecast is looking pretty redunkulous: Tonight: Rain in the evening...then rain and snow after midnight. Breezy. Snow level 6000 feet lowering to 4500 feet after midnight. Snow accumulation up to 15 inches. Pass winds south 15 to 25 mph shifting to the southwest after midnight. Gusts to 40 mph. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/total_forecast/i...p;county=orc005
  3. noice! do they hand out gotamas to everyone down there or what
  4. Say what you want, it takes some guts to do this: sick
  5. That's the total vertical of many midwest ski areas.
  6. heh so they have that technology in canada now
  7. they are not repairable, trust me on this. I sent two back to BD (covered in epoxy when I tried to glue them back together several times) and they called me saying they would send me some new ones. Unfortunately they said they were on a boat from Italy. Have not heard back from them (it has been about a month). I think you can buy them straight-up, but they are about $50 if I'm not mistaken. Pretty popular, since people buy them to replace in their softer boots.
  8. Your Tuas will be right at home. I think that's what they were really designed for in the first place. Great skis, but not exactly burly crud eaters (except for the ones they were producing right when they went belly-up).
  9. That's not too long. Those are pretty skinny by today's standards and Tuas get tossed around in the cascade crud here pretty good so a little extra length might do you some good.

  11. wow! gots to get up there with the skis this year.
  12. Since I've only 1 other old alias and I don't even know the password for it anymore I can keep perfect track of my one login. Unlike you nerds with multiple aliai.
  13. Don't tell me you didn't have that top gun poster on your bedroom wall, and if you didn't you wanted it badly.
  14. It's BRING THE SMACKDOWN. If you're going to try to be all iTough at least get the f'ing words right.
  15. Just because you pussed out and exited off the highway to the danjazone is no reason to trash this cinematic masterpiece.

    WELCOME TO THUNDADOOOMMMMMMMMME
  20. I have a few things to sell. I'd rather stay local in the Portland area, but could be convinced to ship if buyer pays. I don't want to ship the jacks. Patagonia Down Vest, Size L, Black This is essentially brand new. $80 Patagonia Ice Nine Parka, Size L, Orange A 3-ply Gore-Tex XCR parka, perhaps the only one they made? There is a bit of epoxy residue on the right chest from a patch I pulled off. I have not tried to take this off, but it would probably come off with some convincing. It is not sticky or anything, but it is there. Otherwise the jacket is like new. It is size L, but fits very loose. $200 The epoxy: Fritschi Diamir Freeride Brakes, Wide New. These are for the NEW white Freerides. They will NOT work with the Grey/Yellow Freerides. 100mm. $50 Black Diamond Carbon Fiber Whippet Adapters New. If you have whippets and you want CF lowers, you need these. $8 Hi-Lift 60" Casting Jacks Both brand new in packaging. If you don't know what it is, you probably don't need it. Functions both as an offroad jack and as a come-along when used with recovery straps. I have two of these to sell! Perfect for the Ghost River Valley. If you don't have rock sliders or a solid bumper, you will need the wheel or bumper attachments. $50 each
  21. Mt. Baker has a pretty good page on tree wells that might be worth reviewing if you have questions about it: http://www.mtbaker.us/safety/snow/prevention.html
  22. Even with skis on it can take what seems like forever to get back uphill to help someone. Sometimes the person is so buried you can't even see where they are and they can't shout for help. It took over a week and hundreds of people to find a buried snowboarder at Bachelor a few years back. Really sucks to see this happen yet again.
  23. yeah but you can get really high off dextromethorphan, and in this situation, perhaps that would be the best option.
  24. We got back around midnight because we hung out in Seattle with some friends for a bit. But this... ...is worth driving for. Thanks for letting us tag along and passing on the local knowledge. We'll be back for sure. Good to finally meet some more of the cc.com'rs. Thanks to mattp for being our car tour guide of stevens pass too.
