Everything is "inspired by" now. Needs more Jzaing. "Our five became six one morning when Herbert Stencil walked into camp. "I've been sleeping in ditches" he said apropos of nothing, and began eating my breakfast. Mr. Stencil is the world's oldest climber. He's been climbing so long, everyone he's ever climbed with is dead; his one claim to fame is that he once stepped in a pile of Fred Beckey's shit in an alder thicket in the Bugaboos." "
  6. First pic is Chehalis Lake slide. That's the old FSR. Now you have to detour around via West Harrison and Mystery. An extra 15 km. Even more if crossing over Bardean or something. Follow up: hard to say. The only published study locally is from the Alaska/BC border. I think it's having more of an effect in more glaciated areas. I don't think glacial retreat is having much effect in the North Cascades because there really just aren't many glaciers here relative to the Coast Mts. I mean the Garibaldi Neve has more ice than all of the North Cascades put together. Meager, Joffre, Whymper Dome, and James Turner all have a deglaciation component. Tipella and Chehalis don't.

Cascadeclimbers is old enough to get drunk (at least in Canada) and have its own kid by now.

  9. Naw, it still goes. Not unrepeated per se either, it got freed, just not to the top. It's kinda like Robie Reid NE face, what was 10a before is 10+ R after
  10. @jon @olyclimber any chance the pics in this report can be made to work again?

  14. Dude. You need to join the Rockies Alpine Climbing fb group
  15. For future reference, Instead of doing all the rappels you did to get off, you can climb out of the canyon on the north (climbers right) side from where you stopped and then just hike back down to the road in like 30 minutes. No need to do even a single rappel. Much easier, especially if you are soloing the rig on your way up.
  16. This thread needs the image links fixed @jon @olyclimber
