300 bucks isn't going to buy you much of a mountain bike... Try to get your friends to loan you thiers and see what you think. It's like buying climbing gear, it's not cheap. Try to figure out what kind of riding you want to do, cross country, stunts, lift serve, fire roads, city.....

Check out the local bike shops when it's raining or during the week so they can spend some time with you.

I've bought 3 bikes from Gregs, it just depends who you talk to and how much time they have. If you need work done take it to Wright Brothers of Fluid Ride. ( Seattle )

  2. I would like to point out that it's just like another day in Iraq. In fact w/ only 33 killed w/o torture and limited property damage it would be considered a good day in Iraq.

Furthermore the news said over and over "This is a record school shooting". Will someone feel the need to break this record?

Sad, just another case of untreated mental ilness. Usualy there are warning signs that are missed or ignored.

  3. Trip: Silver Peak - Nordic Pass

    Date: 4/15/2007

    Trip Report:

Beck, Mike and I parked at Hyak and skinned up one of the runs, donw to the creek then over Nordic Pass, up the clear cut to the ridge of Silver Peak. Turned around and falowed the blue dimons most of the way back. Got off route and came out ot the woods above Grand Juntion. Some steep side hilling got us down the the warmong hut and then down the road to the Hyak runs and out. Beck and Mike had tele geat and I had XC w/ metal edges and skins. Very glad I didn't bring my rando gear. I don't know how to tele so going down was tricky but shure was nice to tour on light gear. Clouds were all around us but we were mostly in the sun. Conditions sucked, but there's plenty of snow. Saw 1 snow shoer and a few skiers. Kind of strange being up there when it's closed.
