  1. No shit. "We caught 'em! Now let's pour it out!" Sheer brilliance. "The jewel among the thousands of bottles of liquor was a bottle distributed in 1914. It is one of only two bottles from that year in the country. Elks said the still-sealed bottle was worth about $10,000. "Agents said the entire amount is worth more than $1 million because many of the bottles are not only rare but also commemorative. One bottle was found to have the distiller's signature on it.
  2. Better yet - donate it to the homeless or to local food banks.

  4. I gotta admit my jaw dropped when I saw the email.
  5. Wanna buy one of my old Wild Things or Montbell jackets?
  6. You mean to tell me I gave someone an idea? Cool……BTW….I was making a joke. About the other avatars….. It was an idea that didn't work, though.
  7. Damn. I knew it would be too easy - even useless. Like I said, they were for real, I said "What the hell", sent them my climbing log and some pics from trips, and they told me a few hours ago that they selected 15 people from around the country, ice climbers, bicyclers, endurance runners, fishermen, etc., among them 2 from Washington, 1 of them from cc.c (yours truly). Now tell me - is something seriously wrong when, you don't mind if they use your real name, but you hide your avatar out of embarassment? Is that backwards, or what?
  8. fruit is full of sugar - but it's not bad sugar. i think the key to reducing sugar in your diet is getting rid of the bad sugar and soda is one of the worst things you can ingest. i hardly ever drink soda anymore ... unless it's root beer and i pretty much only drink that when i'm eating pizza or having a root beer float. i'm obviously not a "diet" person, but i do watch my bad sugar intake and aside from my root beer weakness, i avoid all other drinks that contain corn syrup - which is tougher than it sounds. it's true that once you stop ingesting a lot of processed sugary foods that you will start to lose your cravings for them. if you start trying healthier options, you'll eventually find some things you like that will fulfill your sugar needs. i found i like the dried mango slices (without the added sugar) at trader joe's - so much goodness in a little bag! But my point is, I don't eat processed sugar at all, or at least rarely, once or twice a month. (I binge on Haagen-Dasz ever 5 weeks or so.) It's when I start going over 25 miles a week running that I start getting the cravings, and I think it's because of that. I'm just guessing that the fruit will take care of that, but it's only a guess, really. Dried fruit does sound good, though, and I do get a lot of stuff at TJ's.
  9. Cool. Yeah, my current style is just eat everything raw, except pasta. No processed foods, and few cooked foods, other than the occasional meats, on special occasions. I've never even owned a scale. Exercise - plenty. Running, weight training, climbing, snowshoeing, etc... I'm just wondering if my nutrition is keeping up with my lifestyle and my energy output, and if it's going to be adequate when I start training for another marathon a couple of months from now. I was overweight during my last marathon. Now I'm "normal", but I'm wondering if I'm eating enough of everything and eating right. When my training goes up, I do sense sugar cravings, and I blame it on lack of proper nutrition. I know I don't eat enough fruit (plenty of veggies, though), and have been making myself eat more lately - at least one piece a day, anyway. Just not too fond of fruit. Mainly veggies, seeds, yogurt, nuts, grains, milk, and pasta. (And plenty of coffee.) I'll check out the site and the author.
  10. DUDE i live in Oregon... pub club is at least a 5 hour drive Ride your bike - work off some of that sugar.

  13. I find that when I increase my training, I get sugar cravings now and then. I eat a lot of veggies, but little or no fruit. I just started to add one piece of fruit a day to my diet, to see if that makes a difference. I'll go for it for 2 or 3 weeks, and see what happens.

We're not like you. Thank God. Perhaps you'd like to explain the personal appeal that vigilantism, open contempt for law, easy dismissal of civil rights, racist overtones, and general barbarism present in Dirty Harry holds for you. Please don't attribute such an appeal to the rest of us or the American people as a whole. Pretty simple. Small dicks like Big Guns. And Corvettes.

Oh, okay. Hitler's disregard for human rights was completely worthwhile. Executing the handicapped, retarded, and homosexuals in the name of the good of Reich was a wonderful idea. You are indeed right. I stand corrected. I apologize. :kisss: You seem to have a problem with logic. But you do seem nice :kisss: back at ya Hint: It's not logic - it's way too subtle facetiousness.
