  1. Sounds good. I'm glad they fit, I didn't want to see them in the mail again. Sorry they didn't have laces, those are the breaks for $60. have fun Jarred
  2. Actually it took us 2 hours and 20 minutes to the saddle, under an hour to the ridge, and we were on the ridge proper after a quick 5-10 minutes cruise up some fun terrain. I don't think we're in great shape, just descent, we don't work out or anything, don't run, so if you're heading up I would say you could make it to the ridge in less than four hours (it's packed the whole way thanks for snow cats).
  3. Found out some changes. I have to transfer the tickets to your reservation. If you are interested PM me, I can't remember the name of the guy who was interested before, I think his name was Eric Hobbs, but I can't find him on this site. Anyhow, I can transfer the tickets to whoever wants them, the price is negotiable bc I really just want to sell them. PM me, this is a good deal, national travel from Seattle on the cheap!
  4. Fuck god, religion is a lie, it was a joke in regards to the dipshit who told me I should go up the Hogsback, what a wanker. If you think I'm religious then you may need to wake up, this site is so full of bullshit I can't believe anybody would actually believe something that is written. Maybe I'm the one with the hook in my mouth and you two are reeling me in, who knows. Definitely funny though that you seemed to think I would actually entertain the thought that there is some sort of all powerful being in the world. Fuck that unrational notion.
  5. Sizes: I don't know, I know that one will fit a sleeping bag or a tent, and the other will fit both at once. If you really want them let me know, I'd be happy with $10 but if I pay shipping that brings the overall price way down, so I can ship them once you send me the $10, then you just reimburse for whatever the shipping cost is once you see it on the package. talk to me. Jarred
  6. Thanks for the tip, I tried that route but it seemed too serious for me. I don't like to enter the danger zone and I just wasn't feeling like the hogsback was the route for me. There's always next time though right? Keep climbing, keep living, keep the faith and the good Lord will protect the righteous!!!
  7. It's a medium, so is that a no on your end? later
  8. If you want the jacket, let me know and I'll check the size when I get home, I will be able to let you know on Tuesday. take care
  9. It's form fitting, but not so tight you can't squeeze a little down jacket underneath. But yes, it's not a big baggy thing.
  10. this is the jacket, but it's green in real life go to: http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&productId=47528638&parent_category_rn=4501866 and I just talked to her and she said she'd like $200, but let me know if you're interested and we can talk
  11. I can tell you, the jacket is perfect, I can get pictures if you're seriously interested. We don't have a digital camera so it's kind of a pain. Let me know.
  12. Sorry about that, I forgot women aren't all one size. Size Women's Medium
  13. Green women's Arc'teryx GoreTex jacket. I can't remember what model, but it's the one that retails for around $320-$360. It has the reinforced elbows and shoulders, a hood, pit zips, etc. It's a bomber jacket, my girlfriend just got a lighter cheaper one and doesn't need this one anymore. She's used it on a few mountain climbs and it's in brand new condition, nothing wrong with this baby. I think she wants about $175, but if you're interested let me know and we can talk. later
  14. Well, six people including myself attempted Yocum yesterday, needless to say none made it very far. The weather was warm, the rime was dry and crumbly as only rime seems to be, and the first gendarme was downright scary. Anyhow, I think Tim and Karsten might have a better story regarding retreat, their's took a little while. All, in all, a great day on Hood, beautiful morning, and great snow conditions for routes like the Sandy and Leuthold's.
  15. Anybody have an idea on the summit time for Yocum. I know this is an open ended conditions based questions. I'm not looking for perfection, just a ballpark figure of how many hours from the lot, assuming the folks climbing are in decent shape and move well together. take care
  16. For a bag that doesn't have some sort of eater repellent or water proof shell on it, would DWR work very well. What are some suggestions for coating a bag with a substance that will do it's best to keep out dew, light spin drift, that type of stuff, Im' not looking to have it stand up to a deluge. thanks Jarred
  17. Use your ice axe. I haven't used my handle for my BD shovel in about 4 years. lighter lighter lighter
  18. Still available, thought they were sold, but no, YOU COULD STILL BE THE PROUD OWNER OF A PAIR OF NICE BOOTS!!! They look go with a business suit for those non-climbers out there!!! buy them!
  19. I know I have the burgundy one, good size for one large sleeping bag (or a small one and a bivy), the purple one, good size for two sleeping bags then the partner carries more of the tent, and I think that's it, but I might have a green one.
  20. The MSRs have a very small burning circle if you look at the water that boils and the water closer to the outside of the pot, I have a gigapower and the burning circle is dispersed much better. It's a little more money but it is much more efficient. I have it wired to a teapot and I put a hole in the teapot handle so the whole system can hang and when I pour the stove still sticks to the pot, it's almost impossible to spill and everything fits back inside the teapot, except the canister. Talk to the folks at Second Ascent if you're in Seattle.
  21. I have two or three of those granite gear compressible stuff sacks. They're in great condition as I don't use stuff sacks anymore. Let me know if you want them, make me a deal, an offer, a proposal, not matrimonial. take care Jarred they mail from zip code 97838
  22. Yo, I have two US Airways tickets that I can't use. They're transferrable and are good until January 4th 2005. I want $200/ticket. It's good for the lower 48 and Canada. If you're interested, look at the destinations US Air flies to and then PM me. The one catch is that if you want the tickets, you have to show up at an airport 3 days within the day you make your reservations so that they can transfer the ticket to your name. Not bad if you live in a city with an airport nearby (I don't.) Let me know Jarred
  23. Too small, what size do you wear, I could send you some inner tubes and you could fashion something out of them that might work. I wear size 12 street shoe, these run a little different.
  24. No digital camera here...you'll have to subscribe to some orthopedic porn I guess. As for the boots, they aren't as wide as my scarpas. I like the boots, I just don't need them, I need money more. They will fit anyone who doesn't have especially voluptuous feet. I just like wide shoes, boots, etc., I like to have room to wiggle my toes. If somebody really wants them, let me know, I'll send them, then if they fit nicely, buy them, if they don't, send them back, you're only out the shipping. I realize someone could just not pay me for them, but I'm trying to trust people to be decent. let me know. They're standard hybrid boots, they're not EXTRA SKINNY or anything.
  25. Well then maybe you can help my cause, maybe we could work a buy one get one free sort of thing and you could donate your pair. Sounds good to me and it's sure to move my pair a lot faster!
