Pretty typical at this time of year up there, the weather is a big factor and that includes the freeze/thaws and freezing level and wind changes that effect the snow surface especially over crevasses. Been there done that and learned. Nice writeup, please be careful out there at this time of year on the big R. TTT

As far as I know Devils lake is it, and around an hour from Madtown. I had some pics of some routes but couldnt find em. This was a site used before: http://climbingcentral.com/rock/devilslake/devilslake.html Ran into the IT guy that put up some of the stuff, but really Devils lake is a total abberation in the grasslands, an oasis really, plus beer is very plentiful in these areas, and try out supper clubs. WI is not bad at all and Madison is cool. TTT

Saw that thing next door, POS, couldn't beleive tehy got away with putting that thing up Oly.

Probably the one I saw looking for roadkill this morning on I-5. They sit in a tree behind the condo here, even saw 4 at one time. They frequently buzz the Starbucks building.
