  1. I think that Pandora did that route with two others. I would check with the rangers to see what is in. Cadaver gap was taken (Willi) as a shortcut down the DC Ingraham route under bad conditions, to avoid this take Cathedral gap.
  2. Nice TR, looks like a fun traverse and I've got to do it sometime. Been around that area and wondered what it would be like going to Icy from Ruth. TTT
  3. 150 acre fire by the duckabush trail News
  4. Lost most likely at Granite Mtn Trailhead July 23rd
  5. That had a BIG run out, there were a couple of smaller slides on Sunday that rumbled through.
  6. Great photo shot coverage of the route, and a good reminder that thumb rock has objective danger.
  7. To me there is a tipping point...local climbers seem to be down with the $30 as it seems to fund the CLIMBING (support of staff) on Rainier, its not excessive but hey parks are short on money, you get larger fees and locals can bail when the weather isnt so good but out of towners are more could be more "commited" and going up when the weather is more borderline--higher fees and less climbers when weather is dicier..more rescues?? The rangers are doing a good job from what I've seen, lower costs in that dept.. but the costs may hurt later. TTT just sayin' look at that end of it.
  8. Is Dragon scar where the slide hit 25 years or so ago above colchuck glacier to the right of the route, I saw it happen from Colchuck lake,, this is a great thread btw... TTT
  9. At this time of year I would watch for cold fronts/warm fronts that are coming in. Here is a link for the Muir map along with GPS and compass bearings (take both if you can) Muir map , Friday has Thunderstorm possibilities so that can throw off the 6-8k marine layer in a stable airmass.
  10. This made my day and I suk at rock climbing. Good job WCC.
  11. And more scenic (I've done both Easton and CD car to car), did this several times. Slept at trailhead, took light gear, two waterbottles and fill as you go up. Recommend light rope and glacier gear. TTT
  12. I think to answer the other question on the climbers board as to why we climb this photo captures a lot of it for me. TTT
  13. I think most knew what he meant... Good for getting out
  14. I'll add a link in the alpine lakes section soon. TTT
  15. Haven't heard of much theft at Muir, just stash gear like you're coming back for it. If it looks like it was forgotten I can see someone in a big group grab something that looks like someone in the group forgot something and unintentionally taking it.
