  1. Hey clamberers,

a lightning storm bumped me and my partner off of the Beckey Route on Liberty Bell back on Sunday, 8/24/14. In the mad dash to the rap anchors we left his orange Nikon point and shoot Coolpix with GPS near the top of the 3rd pitch, likely before the little sideways traverse/scramble down to the main rap anchors. His camera is weatherproof, so unless it got zapped, it should be fine. He has loads of great pix on there from some great mountain adventures this past year, including an attempt on Manaslu! Most of his pix were backed up, but he'd love to, at the very least, get his media card back!

We'd left paper notes at the Blue Lake trailhead in the register and on the board there, but we haven't heard from anyone yet... and I know the route's probably been climbed fifty times since the 24th! ;-)

Any information would be much appreciated... and possibly a reward that may include tasty beverages!

Here's a link to what the model looks like:

    Nikon Coolpix image

    Thanks, all!

  4. Had a great time on Shuksan this weekend. Got caught up in the brushy/bushwhack descent while enjoying too much boot glissading.

I found a Grivel axe and a Thermarest pad in the bush that some previous soul had battled! The pad was mighty water-logged, so not sure if it's usable again or not. The axe needs some TLC. I'd love to hear this climber's story!

And sadly, once to the car, realized my camera likely got yanked out of my pocket in the bushwhack, too. It's a small, blue Canon point and shoot. Lots of photos on there I'd love to get... the reward may be the camera if found!

The mountains giveth, and they taketh away, too!

    Thanks for looking and cheers,

    Jeremy

  9. Early Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012, around 4am, our Equipment Shop in Fairhaven was burglarized by 1 or 2 people, likely males, and likely climbers...

Items that were definitely taken were:

The bindings also have "AAI" etched in them.

-Mountain Gear BMG 105, size Small (black and white)

-CiloGear Worksack 75L, size Small (black and yellow)

  11. All black (soak up that solar warmth!), used only on one trip to Denali and is still like new! Keep yourself toasty on the Big Mac or St. Elias this or next year, and train now with it on Rainier or Baker.

It is a medium, and does not have the Radiant lining, which was less breathable, less comfortable, and broke down over time. The inner and outer pockets are excellent for stowing gloves, hot water bottles, all your summit day snacks, camera, etc. The hood alone is incredibly warm. I added longer cord to the zipper pulls to make it easier to use when wearing gloves or mittens.

    Here's one review:

Probably the most technical and functional down parka ever made. This mountaineering jacket is insulated with amazing 700+ fill goose down, hand-filled into 33 separate chambers to eliminate down shifting and cold spots. GoreTex® DryLoft membrane adds water resistance, extreme breathability and wind protection. Detachable down-filled hood is "storm-proof". Articulated elbows and "arms up" construction increases freedom of movement. Reinforced elbows. Two-way zipper. Two front pockets with Velcro® closures. Two interior mesh water bottle pockets, and two zippered interior pockets. Adjustable drawcord hem. Stuff sack included. Length: 30". Weight: 2lb. 11oz. Size: M(38-40)

Here's the pic at my craigslist post:

ALSO... I'm considering selling my OR Brooks Rangers overboots (fit size 9/10 US plastics) and my super toasty North Face Solar Flare -20 F down bag. (Very comparable to a -30, and did fine for me at sub -30 on Denali) Email me if interested!

    Cheers!
